This school has gone through major positive changes since it open in 2007. There are now more opportunities such as an expansion of AP classes and new after school programs. Godinez continues to exceed my expectations by further developing each day. Way to go Grizzlies !

As a former student, I can attest to the phenomenal staff and support provided by all who work at Godinez. Godinez prepared me for college since day one. I used to find it really annoying that we would have countless assemblies each year addressing the same issues (Financial aid, A-G requirements, SAT/ACT scores/exams, the different branches of public/private schools, etc), but, in retrospect, I now see that they were ensuring students were prepared for the arduous, and sometimes confusing, college application process. As opposed to my peers in other campuses, when senior year finally came, I had very few questions in terms of college. As far as my high school experience, I was involved in six clubs during my four years there, ASB, nine AP classes, a myriad of honors classes, and was an avid supporter of the fantastic shows the VAPA department put on. The school also runs a great, inclusive athletic program that only gets better every year. Currently, I am in my final year of college and have returned to Godinez as a staff member. In the three years since I graduated, the school has added four additional AP courses, more instructional support (including tutoring opportunities), and, to all students' delight, a more relaxed dress code. Back in the day, the boys had to have their shirts tucked in, students could not be expressive with their hair if it did not look "natural," and girls could not show their shoulders (now, to my knowledge, their straps can be 1-2").Overall, this is an outstanding school that just concluded it's tenth year of operation. They have a waitlist spanning hundreds of students for each grade level, so if your child makes it past the lottery, consider yourself lucky as I know a few students who broke down into tears when they realized they did not make it. On another side note, I wanted to mention that in my four years there, I saw Godinez Grizzlies head off to Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, Cornell, Princeton, Georgetown, Tufts, Amherst, Middlebury, MIT, Olin College, and the University of Pennsylvania, to name a few. Like any school, your experience here will be what you make of it. All the resources are readily available to you, take advantage! :-)P.S. At Godinez Fundamental, the teachers do everything possible to help there students achieve academic success. Students are presented with all the necessary tools to become great people in and out of the classroom. Students are encouraged to strive for their goals and reach their full potential. It is truly an amazing school with wonderful and dedicated staff.

This school is amazing. The teachers are wonderful and do a very good job at teaching. For the 2008-2010 school year Godinez got the highest API score in the Santa Ana District. They beat Segerstrom High School. They are doing great progress for them being a new school.
