Posted by a parent on 10/19/2021The school went through 4 principals in the seven years that my children were at the school. The first one was ineffective and left after one year. The second and third were pretty good and my children enjoyed school and a sense of community. The fourth, which is Mr. Coleman, was terrible. A quintessential bureaucratic who is more interested in checking off boxes and making teachers/parents jump through hoops than giving students a wonderful school experience.
Posted by a parent on 2/16/2017Unfriendly office staff. When a boy went into the office with bloody scratches on his elbow, knee and hip, all they can tell him was, "get a band-aid and leave." Are we not teaching our kids to be caring any more?

One time when a 1st grader started going crazy and we had to do code red, after only 10 to 20 minutes everything was normal again. Also the teachers are also high quality. The teacher makes school educational but they also make it fun.

At the moment of graduation, I would like to share my favorite points of Villa Montessori with future students and families.1.I love to see my daughter acquire practical life skills at the beginning, then explore academic realms with an individualized and flexible curriculum.2.All the teachers and office staff are professional, attentive, and kind. Mrs.Rajeshwaran, Mrs.Fan, Mrs.Lin, Mrs. DeSilva, and Mrs.Dhruva, thank you so much!3.My daughter is very active, sometimes too much. But she acquired self-control skills thanks to the child-centered, logical, and caring guidance of the teachers.4.I could see what was happening in the classroom by the weekly emails on the curriculum from Mrs.Lin, and the children's pictures uploaded biweekly. Villa also provides several workshops for parents on positive parenting, the importance of music for children, etc. 5.West Valley Elementary School allows Villa Montessori to share their Kindergarten yard, regular yard, library, etc. Children enjoy the wide open space outside of their classrooms.I'm grateful for the professional and warm support from Villa Montessori to my family.
