Read what parents are saying about Mission Preparatory SchoolSin duda una buena escuela para nuestros hijos, segura y confiable, la escuela trabaja duro para hacer lo mejor, pero se necesita el apoyo de los padres para lograr el exito completo, y que nuestros hijos avancen.
Posted by a parent on 3/29/2024Students are having difficulties in learning because there are teachers who have left school. Classes are covered by substitutes or assistants. In general, there are many deficiencies.
Posted by a community member on 3/26/2024Mission Prep values children and their learning experiences. I agree that they do have a lot of staff changes. My child love MP and is excited to go to school mostly everyday. The teachers are wonderful and do a great job at keeping the students engaged. MP tries their best to have a diverse program for the students which I appreciate a lot. If you are serious about your child’s education goals and can appreciate restorative justice, you will appreciate MP.
Posted by a parent on 3/22/2024I do not recommend this school because first they treat middle scholars like they are still in elementary which is just annoying over all like some examples of this are, always walking in lines to go to different classes thought the day (you cant walk by yourself to class) this also includes the teachers always needing to see you in line at all times. This school in the middle school side does not give you any passing periods/breaks except for free play and lunch. Most of the students attending don't have respect towards their adults, because of this we get treated somewhat poorly. Teachers are constantly being changed or just leave I have had at least 9 teachers/teacher assistants left in the span of 2 years, if a problem is reported to the front office instead of finding any other proof other than the "victim" they immediately give you a warning as in trying to scare you with suspension or community work hours for something as small as a fake note. If one student in the class gets in trouble that makes the whole class fall into fault as well, not to mention there are zero clubs. I don't really have any compliments to give to this school but if you are looking for a somewhat over protective school/middle school this might be the school for you but other than that I wouldn't recommend it.
Posted by a student on 7/18/2023I disliked this school. I went here through kindergarten through third grade ( I am currently in high-school, crazy I know). The teachers overworked us. Like a lot. I would go to school from 7:40 AM, to 3:30 PM. Then I would go home and do tons of homework. Once, I went on vacation three days before school ended, and they made me write a whole journal about the trip. It wasn’t hard but I spent half of my trip sitting in the hotel room writing about what I did that day while my family was out in the pool. Then over summer break, we would get a thick packet. I mean it wasn’t bad (unless you procrastinated) but I thought the whole point of summer break was a break from school. My kindergarten teacher was a saint though and to this day she is still in my top three teachers list. She made such a huge difference and I thank her for being so patient with me. From that school, I only had two likable teachers. But, the extra teachers ( like the science, music, technology teacher) were also very nice. The kids were ok but the older ones in different grades were a little mean.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI vividly recall my 1st tour of Synergy. There was laughter and smiles from children in the halls and play spaces. It felt airy and vibrant at the same time. Children’s art lined the walls, there were posters of banned books hung upstairs, and there was a presentation of a recent trip to Nicaragua. And, I thought, YES, this is the school for my son! However, the most prominent sensation I felt while I toured Synergy was the sense of safety. This stands out because I never experienced feeling safe in school. I was born and raised in SF’s southeast and I attended SF’s public schools at the height of the crack epidemic. My community witnessed the devastating effect of addiction, violence, grief, and constant loss. Research shows that it’s hard to learn when you feel scared… My son and I still live in the southeast. The same schools that I attended surround us. In my heart, I knew he needed to experience a different way of learning. I was thrilled beyond words when Synergy accepted us.My son started Synergy as a shy and sensitive child. But I could tell, he felt safe here too. He felt safe to explore, to mess up, to speak up, to get dirty, to laugh, and to be sad and scared, as we all felt in the last few years. All this, he was able to experience in community with you all. Today, I have witnessed the beauty of him blossoming and transforming into a confident young brown man. Tremendously held by a solid foundation that Synergy provides, from its agreements, to teachers and staff, to mixed grade learning, and of course, by his posse of friends, who he considers family. What a blessing it is to be part of the Synergy family. It is our hope that other families also experience the beauty of watching their child thrive in their own unique way, in the amazing urban sanctuary that Synergy is for us.Parent Review1y ago - La Scuola International School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot speak highly enough about La Scuola. Our child has been there since August and everything has gone extremely smoothly. Primarily our child is very happy there. I have been overwhelmed by the warmth and partnership the school offers. Our teachers and the faculty have been brilliant - great at their jobs and highly responsive to any questions. There are many opportunities to get involved, volunteer and join events if that’s what you are looking for. Layered in to this is the great academic, inquiry-based curriculum driven by the International Baccalaureate program, Reggio inspired approach and the Italian language immersion. As a quick note we have no Italian language at home and this has not been a barrier at all. In coming years Spanish language is offered also. Highly recommended.Parent Review3mo ago
