Posted by a parent on 8/7/2016I'm not sure where this parent get's his/her information, but BayTech has two social studies/history teachers on staff. My daughter is currently enrolled in Ancient History and my son is taking American History. As far as sixth graders learning GIMP, I think as one part of a complete computer literacy program, it fits well. The kids enjoy experimenting and being creative with it as they learn how to use it in conjunction with other programs. Modern presentations require a broad knowledge-base that goes far beyond what a basic PowerPoint is able to show.
Posted by a parent on 1/9/2014Bay Area Technology School is the best school in town and highly recommended!!! From 6th grade until now 12th grade, my son and I are very satisfied for what they offer like free after school program which is awesome! Tutoring even it's late or over the weekend. They prepare students to graduate. they have practice test to help you pass SAT. They also have AP courses that's help for college application. They have piano, arts, drama club for extra learning and for language learning they offer Spanish and Turkish class. You can check online for your child progress, grades, homework, etc.. Principal, teachers and staffs are nice, very helpful and friendly. If your child start learning and disciplined at home they will love and appreciate Baytech.
Posted by a parent on 10/28/2013Bay Area Technology school is the best community school in Oakland. It offers quality education in a caring, family like environment. The class sizes are small so teachers are able to cater for the needs of the individual students. I love this school and therefore have enrolled my younger child now for next year. Baytech is the best!
Posted by a parent on 10/28/2013This is a terrific school that has just moved to a new campus (kings Estates ) 8251 Fontaine St Oakland 94605. Near the Keller offramp, it is highly accessible from both Oakland, San Leandro, Castro Valley and Hayward. Class size is kept to a max of 24 but typically are under 20. Teachers are enthusiastic and the parents are really involved. The kids-who wear uniforms are actually HAPPY! Noisy, but it;s a joyful noise. My son is in his 2nd year here (7th grade) and is doing better academically than ever before. API scores are skyrocketing due to the combined efforts of faculty, parents, and mostly STUDENTS.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son went here for kindergarten and loved it even though most of it was online. Later he was able to do twice a week for a few hours and I got to meet more staff. The teachers were amazing as well as all the staff that worked here while my son attended. My son learned so much here which was a surprise with a lot of it being remote. I really appreciate the time and care the teachers and staff put into the students. It was really nice that even the principal met with the kindergartners and talked to them once a week with another teacher doing an activity with the kids over Zoom. I thought that was really nice for the principal to do that with his busy schedule so I can just imagine I know he do that for all classes. The facility is clean, well kept, and looked like they were expanding. I changed my son’s school to something closer to our house but I do miss him going to this school. We ended up at this school bc I was way past the registration deadline and this was 1 of 2 schools left with availability so I chose this since it was just down the street from his daycare in case she needed to take him or pick him up. We live in fruitvale but if we were to ever move to this area I would definitely re-enroll him again here. I’m really glad I didn’t judge this school off the low scores I saw online which I did my own research on, on how a lot of those scores are biased bc it’s based off the neighborhood and demographics.Parent Review2y ago - Parker Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son and I have both unsuccessfully tried to contact this school for weeks to discuss our family members' (both students) school-related matter. Our email messages were not replied to. We called several times, but their recorded greeting announces that the voice maibox is full, and we could not leave a message. When we pressed "0" to speak with an operator, the phone just rang nonstop, and no one ever answered our calls. I'd advise everyone against enrolling in this school. Terrible communication!Parent Review2y ago - Reach Academy
