Montessori School Of Manhattan Beach

All 3 of my children have now gone through this program and have flourished! The Montessori philosophy has been so beneficial for our children and family.

With my personal experience at the school for almost three years, save your money! This school doesn’t foster a nurturing and secure environment for their teachers. The teachers are the backbone of the school and if they are unhappy and being treated improperly it eventually trickles down to the students. Beware don’t be fooled by the pretty location. You will not be happy at this school.

A very low level of education (essentially glorified day care) at an excessive price. Overcrowded classrooms that are within the state 12:1 limit but nonetheless nearly zero chance for individual kids to get substantial teacher/student attention.

Worth every hard earned penny! Though we have only been at the school for 6 months, I can honestly say this school is amazing. I have never gone home wishing anything was different. My child has excelled exponentially here. Her friends who continued with the school we attended last year, are far behind. I was slightly skeptical in the beginning thinking we were paying for the location as opposed to teachings, but boy was I wrong!!! Can't speak highly enough.

We had our kids here for 3 years. Positives: exceptionally nice facilities and classrooms. Teachers are warm and welcoming. Kids are well-supervised, and music program/"Spring Sing" is very well done and a lots of fun. Drawbacks: class sizes are quite large with less than ideal student:teacher ratios in practice (>12:1 at times). Academics prior to K could be stronger, although I have heard very good things about the K teacher/program. My kids were behind most peers going into public K in both reading and writing, but had no trouble catching up by the end of the year.
