Beacon Hill Classical Academy

We started this school enamored by so much including the singing, the charisma etc., I loved parental involvement. Soon after, I noted gossip, slander, mean spirted teachers influencing a negative teacher culture. And worst if all kids on the playground being extremely physical. My child was kicked, pushed, hit in the head with a ball, pushed off of a table and noting was done. I was there for each of these things mentioned. The teachers asked me to leave. No apologies or consequences ever given to those kids.There were children throwing food at my kid. The teachers did nothing. In fact, the school scapegoats on one kid. They were like a team of adult bullies. Like the movie “mean girls”.They love to use sound bites to create false narratives. They do not seek truth. They use biblical principles like a religious spirit. They do not connect with children but rather shame them through stories in the bible. Very much like religious spirited people in the bible. This school is fake. It was literally the most terrible place. Everyone in administration and teachers are related. There is no place to turn. They have very poor assessment skills of kids. They boast about their long standing friendships and people they know and how long they have been in education. Extremely egotistical and a terrible group to deal with. I wish people would stop finding this charade. I know plenty of good kids who go there and good families. But, the truth is, the good doesn’t know what the bad are doing,

Beacon Hill is a scant few resources owing to the emphasis on affordability and availability. Because of this, there are some significant problems the school fails to address, like bullying, micromanaging student behavior, a need for extracurriculars and clubs, etc. However, for its shortcomings, Beacon Hill offers an incredibly high-level curriculum and grooms students to a high academic and intellectual standard. Many problems this school has are fundamentally caused by students' misbehaviors. This should not reflect poorly on the school just because some parents choose to send their troubled children here. As it is an ever-growing k-12 school, the situation varies greatly depending on when and what grade one may be attending Beacon Hill, and the best way to understand its value is to contact current and former families that have attended instead of reading highly biased online reviews.

School does not properly deal with student life and bullying issues.

School did not adequately care for students and mismanaged priorities when it came to education and student life.

This school is small but mighty! We have been at Beacon Hill for two years and could not be more pleased with it. Class sizes are small, the teachers are very skilled and care deeply about the students, and the priority in everything is raising Biblically-minded kids who love God. I have been so impressed by the commitment to academic excellence at this school, and the ability to tailor the education to the individual student. They offer both a full-time program, or a homeschool-hybrid program, where the kids are home 2 days/week (curriculum completely provided by the school) and at school the other 3. I have recommended this school to so many people because I can't say enough good things about it and the Classical model they use.
