Read what parents are saying about Jamaica Elementary SchoolSad and poor. This school failed in more ways than one. I advise my friends to avoid this school if at all possible.
Posted by a parent on 12/3/2018Absolutely love this school. My daughter has had to attend three elementary schools in three years (due to us moving) and this is by far the best!
Posted by a parent on 10/22/2018This school is much better than ORO Grande that is for sure, but after being at this school for a while my son has shared somethings that are unfortunate. There have been many flights and the teachers didnt see it and no one was corrected. I have heard myself and my son has said many times, there are some teachers that yell, and belittle... There are many times where my son has said he was really uncomfortable with how the teacher treated him. And also the front staff are kinda friendly. She said just because its a new school and a blue ribbon doesnt mean its the best in town. Kinda strange to tell a new family to the school. Is that a sign there are some issues behind the scenes. Also, I asked the math teacher about homeword and he said they are reducing the homework as they dont want parents teaching the kids wrong-- Great! I totally get that! But what has happened? He gets homework every-night. Mixed information... But happy to be here instead of the other school we dealt with in this town. I am excited to check into some charter schools- they have to work to be the best they can be to keep families and students. Public schools need more competition, the way the school system is now is old and ancient and needs reform to the modern world, not to stay stuck in the 80's. USA has declined so far down the list when compared to the rest of the world! Come on American- get up with the times-- these kids are our future!

Posted by a community member on 8/2/2017This is the first time I have a situation where school staff promised me help in the education my children, but instead they crossed out the future of my children. It happened in Jamaica Elementary School. My children went to Jamaica Elementary School kindergarten a year ago and a year class teacher told to us about my children are very poor in the knowledge (instead of helping them to improve). We asked the help of the principal, she promised to change the situation for better and to give the best special education for my kids. But principal passed to the teacher side and covered her mistakes. Instead of the special education the Jamaica Elementary School left our children in kindergarten for another year at the request of embittered teacher. This year they had to go to First Grade. My children are forced again to undergo the same training, instead of helping them my children simply ignored. We made a big mistake by giving the children in Jamaica Elementary School. In another school they will already to go in First Grade. It is the worst situation in my life and my dream is to change the school for my kids. Do not expect the Jamaica Elementary School will help for your children, especially if you are different nationality than they are.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don’t know where to begin. We moved here January of this year (2022). My kids have never been in public school, until now. There’s been several red flags, which I figured there’d be obstacles, as my kids have been brought up and raised in a Christian school. Teachers don’t call when theres an issue, instead they email, when it’s already a bigger issue than it should be. My son has met kids that obviously have no parental involvement, or what appears to be good instilled morals and values, as I’ve monitored his phone and the text messages are profane. What’s more disgusting is these are girls my son has made “friends” with. Thank God my son is smart and ignores a lot of it. Nonetheless there was a recent event at the school and I contacted the school and asked them to remind my son to go to the office until I or my husband pick him up. Well, they did not follow through. The staff doesn’t care about anything and only contacts you if there is an absence because they lose funding. I’ll be lookin go into homeschool, or private options. Didn’t realize how much teachers stopped caring because parents aren’t parenting. CA public schools seem better at this point.Parent Review1y ago - Calvary Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen we moved here from out of state I was concerned about Arizona's reputation for poor schools. When we found CCA I was skeptical at first. I was never a fan of private schools. After 3 years of attending CCA I'm sold! The quality of the education exceeds what we were used to. The curriculum is a year ahead in most subject areas. The classes are small and the teachers are very in tune to each individual student. Another perk of CCA is they receive art, PE, character education, and computers every week all year long. We are so grateful to have such an excellent school in our small town.Parent Review7y ago - Guiding Light Christian Educational Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience @ Guiding Light is exceptional. I like that education remains an important focus at Guiding Light Christian Educational Center; it ensures children to have an opportunity to excel in their lives. Each family is encouraged to become involved and to take pride in his/her Child's education.Other Review5y ago - Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School
