LIncoln is a lovely, small pastoral school at the heart of a 277-year-old village. There is one class per grade level, and class sizes are small. The student population of the school is generally 120-130 in total for all six grade levels. The teachers care and do a great job, and the principal and staff are good as well. The school achieves excellent outcomes in spite of a school board always looking for an excuse to close Lincoln. The school works on a tight budget, which puts the onus on the teachers and staff to be creative and innovative in terms of delivering quality education. The village loves the school, and parents from outside the service area fight to get their kids enrolled. Lincoln Elementary is a source of pride, and the school is staffed with people who want to be a part of this school in particular. As a Lincoln parent, I couldn't ask for more. And if the school board eventually gets its way and closes the school, when my child has been moved further away to a much more crowded school I will certainly be forced to settle for less. Much less.
