Home Buying and Selling

Ready, Set, Go!

By ActiveRain Community | June 15, 2011

Since the beginning, our goal at Trulia has been to help people find a home that truly meets their needs. To help do this, we’ve jam packed our site with tons of really useful local info for house hunters – from sales stats and pricing trends to even details on nearby schools.

But let’s be honest, most of us don’t like to look at numbers. In fact, some people would rather watch Gigli a hundred times in a row before they even start to figure out if a neighborhood is overpriced, let alone in a good school district. (Okay, we’re exaggerating…but you get what we mean).

So to make our plethora of complex housing data easier to digest and even more useful, we’re taking our little data visualization experiments (remember this awesome rent vs. buy map) to the big time. Allow me to introduce you to … *drum roll* … Trulia Insights.

Starting today, we’re kicking off a brand-spanking new blog that will use cool design to answer burning questions about where we live and how we look for a place to call home. So as quickly as we can dream it (…err, I mean…code it…), we’ll be showcasing some cool maps and graphs that will look at everything from home price cuts across America to mobile house hunting trends. That’s right people, get excited. We’re making real estate data porn that’s safe for work.
