12/06/17 Assault Stabbing. Officers responded to the area regarding the reports of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they located the female adult victim with a stab wound. Officers provided medical aid as they summoned medical personnel. Medical personnel from the Fire Department responded and transported the victim to a local area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The suspects were not located. The investigation was forwarded to detectives for additional investigation.
12/05/17 Burglary Burglary. Officers responded to a rental office in the area regarding a burglary report. While officers were on scene, they were provided with surveillance video of the burglary. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money and office equipment and fled the scene. Information on the suspect was forwarded to officers. The case was forwarded to investigators for review.
12/04/17 Other Disturbance. Officers became aware of a subject who was acting erratically near an intersection. The officers observed the male adult hitting a telephone pole with a flashlight. When they contacted the man, who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol he was still acting erratically. The officers were able to safely detain the individual, who was later transported to jail for public intoxication.
12/04/17 Robbery Robbery. Officers responded to a residence in the area regarding a robbery. When officers arrived, they were able to determine the victim had just arrived home. The door to the apartment was open and an unknown female adult entered the residence. The suspect brandished a handgun, and stole personal property and an undisclosed amount of money from the victim. The suspect fled the scene, and was not located. The victim was uninjured in the robbery. The case was forwarded to detective for additional follow-up.
12/03/17 Assault Homicide Investigation. Officers responded to the area regarding reports of a body on the levee, near the intersection. Officers arrived and summoned medical personnel. The victim adult male victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The victim had an apparent gunshot wound. Homicide detectives were called to the scene. See original press release:
12/03/17 Vandalism Vandalism. Officers responded to a domestic dispute where a female was slicing the tires on a vehicle. When officers arrived on scene the female attempted to flee, still armed with a knife. Officers displayed a less then lethal shotgun. The female suspect dropped the knife and was taken into custody without any force having to be used. She was arrested for vandalism charges.
12/02/17 Assault Assault investigation. Officers responded to a disturbance in the area. When officers arrived, all of the involved parties were no longer on scene. While officers were investigating, one of the involved parties returned. Officers were able to determine that a verbal altercation and occurred in an area fast food restaurant. The disturbance moved to the parking lot where one party produced a handgun and fired several rounds, but did not strike anyone. The suspect was not located. The case was forwarded to investigators for additional follow-up.
12/02/17 Robbery Robbery. Officers responded to the area regarding the report of a theft. When officers arrived, they determined the victim had agreed to meet another subject at this location to sell electronics. The suspect was given the items and attempted to leave, brandishing a handgun. The suspect fled the area with the stolen property and was not located. The victim was uninjured, and the investigation is ongoing.
12/02/17 Theft Theft Report. Officers were called two times to the area regarding the reports of a theft. When officers arrived, they determined the victims had attempted to sell handheld electronics on a social media platform. The victims and suspect agreed to meet in the area. The suspect took the item to inspect and fled during both incidents. The victims in the two cases were uninjured. The investigation remans active and ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
