- Helped me buy a home
My husband and I recently had the chance to work with Robert as he led us through the process of purchasing our first home in a number of years. Our past experience with buying a home was less than favorable, and after getting out of our home, we rented for years before deciding to purchase again. As a result of our misadventure in previous home ownership, to say that we were cautious in entering into a new relationship with an agent would be an understatement. We checked around and got recommendations from friends and professionals in the field, and set up several meetings with agents. After these meetings and talking with many agents at open houses, we met with Robert and felt like we were getting a breath of fresh air. He's smart, incredibly easy to talk to, knows and understands the market, cared about what we wanted, and was (we felt) refreshingly honest. Robert didn't approach us with a high pressure presentation or a promise of gifts if we decided to work with him, but he did let us know that he would be honest with us, work hard and be available to help us find our dream home, and help to inform us well through the process and alleviate any fears/questions we had. It was hard for us not to hire him on the spot, but we made ourselves take the day to think about it, and we're so excited when we decided to work with him. We were lucky and Robert found us several homes that fit our search criteria quickly. He understands how important it is to act quickly in this market, and made us appointments to see the homes the day after they were on the market. One note is that we noticed Robert never tried to talk us into a certain type of home, he simply listened and found us what we liked. This was a stark contrast to some agents we had chatted with. He gave us his honest opinion about the houses (when we asked), which we valued because of his experience. Robert was able to navigate us expertly through the process deciding whether or not to do a pre-inspection, making an offer, and then walk through the time between acceptance and closing with us, attentively calling (which I appreciated) or emailing (which is my husbands preferred method of communication). Robert also does not abandon you post closing! We had several issues when we closed on our dream home, including the owners leaving the home quite dirty (something we didn't know was necessarily not done, but were just sad about us we walked through our new home). Robert surprised us later that day with a cleaning gift certificate, making sure that we were taken care of, and personally made my life as a mom of two young kids, moving and packing and cleaning, so much easier. We believe that we purchased our 'forever home', but if/when we buy again, we would use Robert in a heartbeat. He made a process I was personally very nervous about easy, and dare I say, fun? You absolutely will love your experience when you decide to use this agent. We know that we did.
