Worst experience ever selling 2 properties with the Paul Kaplan Group in Palm Springs in 2014. Having bought & sold 5 properties it was astoundingly difficult with this agency. They double ended one of the deals & we were quite simply left out in the cold as the sellers by Paul Kaplan & Clay Bayham. On the double ended deal, the agent representing the seller, Matthew Reader, had every advantage over us through our agent, Clay Baham, both who work with the Paul Kaplan Group. Clay simply did the least possible to represent us & it was an excruciating process. It became our 2nd job to monitor the process, a complete lack of communication from him, he dropped the ball at every step of the process. He only followed through with likely buyers when their contract was about to expire, allowed our buyer on one property to miss deadlines for removing contingencies, did not warn us about Kaplan's standard inspection recommendations to buyers even though the deal was being double ended. If we had been warned, we would have been proactive as we were motivated sellers. The whole process was weighted for the buyer even though it was a sellers market & completely substandard. My advice is to find another agency if you are selling a property.

We're very disappointed to hear about your experience, two years after your transaction. Although we do our best to be as communicative as possible throughout the entire transaction, and I show pages of emails back and forth with you in our files, we clearly dropped the ball. Inspection standards are part of the listing agreement and sales agreement that you signed, and are not only standards for the Paul Kaplan Group, but also the state of California. It sounds like this wasn't pointed out clearly on the contracts you signed. Reviewing the history of this transaction, it appears that everyone worked very hard on your behalf to keep this deal together considering the potential permitting concerns involved with your property. We were happy to keep the deal together for you, however we apologize for any ill-will that may have resulted from this transaction- we will take this as constructive criticism to be more communicative in the future, and thank you again for your comments.
