Mrs. "Wonder" women Kalyn Scott (Ringwold) was our buying realtor and she caused us to wonder if we truly had a realtor and if she truly cared about us as her clients. We worked with her for 9 months after being deceived by her that we needed her, even though we already found the property and signed a contract. She never onced asked to come to the property with us, to assess the lot, or whether or not our requests were being answered. Her website leada you to believe she stays in contact with her clients, but after not hearing from her in 3 months, we reached out to her to ask when she would fulfill the negotiations she promised she would do in this process. She advised some things would be later in the process. We were patient with her expecting perhaps she would show us some of her skills/ability and 8 months in, still nothing was done. Her talk is MUCH bigger than her ability. Once we brought our concerns to her, she became very defensive and unprofessional and advised she worked so hard, but she had nothing to support these claims. Her initial nice demeanor turned into a passive agressive relationship in which she also began to mock us, avoid all our phone calls and on a couple of occassions tell us she was too busy to help us with our concerns. We knew that she was fairly young, but did not see the unprofessionalism and lack of respect until later in the process. We believe a home buying experience should be exciting and enjoyable, however we were stressed and undervalued often. If you are looking for someone proactive, professional and knowledgeable, please get a referral for a better realtor. We were lucky to have a phenomenal selling realtor and had we met her prior to going under contract to buy a house, she would have been our buying realtor aswell. However Kalyn Scott as our buying realtor was very stressful. We missed alot of time from work and family having to handle the issues along the way. In addition not once did she go over our contracts or explain anything to us. If you are considering Kalyn as a your realtor, interview atleast 3 other realtors and make sure you ask to see a list of the homes they bought and sold, and how long their homes sit on the market. They all request basically the same commission, so why settle for less when you can have the best. Through this process I honestly believe Kalyn feels she was a great realtor and did a great job (because this is what she told us repetively), however I learned just because someone feels confident and sells homes, it does not make them a good realtor. Investigate and ask lots of questions before signing the dotted line with Kalyn. Happy house selling or buying!!!
