In 2016, we searched for a property to rent here on Zillow & found a property we absolutely loved. Went to see it in person and applied right away. At first, we were not the landlords first choice (we were the second choice) however a few months later, the posting reappeared on Zillow. I quickly contacted Therese, as we were still interested. She explained that she re-posted the listing - the current âchoiceâ tenant does not seem to understand the rental process & paying be deposit prior to receiving keys. I shrugged this communication issue off as we were thrilled that we had an opportunity to rent the home we were looking for.
We sign the lease and quickly move in. The landlord had âproposedâ and increased rate after the first month - which we accepted the landlords terms as we were not the first âchoiceâ in tenants. Therese advised she was surprised we accepted the increased rate. Again, shrugged this off as the convenience of this rental was more important at the time.
Upon move in - there were several issues. The dryer maintenance, dishwasher and thermostat. One of the occasions, I had left early from work however the maintenance truck broke down and was not able to come that day. Inconvenient for me but things happen, right?!
Then - the first rain, the water starts leaking into the living room wall. While Therese was responsive and took a look at the leak - she kept putting this off onto the HOA to come and repaint, which NEVER happened during our time at the home.
We received an email at 12:01 AM on September 1st (the day rent is due) asking for a rent increase beginning October 1st. We were given an option to accept, propose or give a 30 day notice to vacate. We quickly proposed a new rate, in hopes to rent the home for at least 6 months to a year longer. A week later, we received notice that the landlord did not accept our offer & a âfriendly reminderâ that the owner pays water and HOA dues. The terms were that they would like us to sign a year lease with an increase for the first three months and another increase for the remaining year or to give a 30 day notice to vacate. Basically, take the offer or leave it. With much thought and research into the surrounding area, this offer was not reasonable to the surrounding market. Reluctantly, we chose to give our notice to vacate & find a new home as there were no other options to negotiate further.
When dropping off our rent in September, I expressed our interest to continue to rent the home to Therese. The communication went downhill once we sent our 30 day notice and even with notice, advised our desire to stay however the rent increase was not appropriate. She usually sends a confirmation with receipt of the check - this did not happen.
Fast forward 27 days later - I see the listing on Zillow for OUR OFFER for a LEASE or MORE term. I called Therese for an explanation, where she advised I was quick to move and the landlord âallowedâ us to stay without increasing our rent for a year - SERIOUSLY?! We were paying top dollar for 2016-2018 and I moniter the market regularly as we are looking to buy within a year. Clearly, our desire to stay were cues to increase rent TWICE within a year term to obtain âtop dollar.â
If youâre expecting Fox Real Estate to be your advocate as a tenant, look elsewhere. Thereâs plenty of shadiness going on (which I was warned by others upon moving in.) Expect to pay top dollar without receiving top dollar service.
I wonât be looking to Fox Real Estate to buy a home in the future or look for a rental, if needed. I can only hope our final walk through goes well. Clearly, this is a money game to the company and business relationships are not of importance.
Glenn and Therese are excellent real estate brokers! I have bought and sold several houses with them in the San Ramon area with great results. They are very easy to work with during the stressful times of real estate transactions. I've been impressed by their professionalism, knowledge of this market, and willingness to do what it takes to show and sell my homes at significantly over asking price. You can't go wrong with this team!
Glenn created a professional and dedicated relationship with us on selling our home. He was exceptional in pricing our home appropriately and managing effectively the negotiations and closure details through the selling and closing process.
Two years ago when we needed to sell our investment property, Glenn and Therese were very helpful and accommodating. Considering the location and the value of the property at that time, they didn't hesitate to help us and really provided us with a great service. Recently we were ready to buy our primary home and once again knocked on their doors for help and again they never failed us. Glenn and Therese are amazing. We never thought we could find a home at our price and location we so desired. But Glenn and Therese have an enormous experience with a hot market like this, worked their magic and strategy and amazingly we got the home of our dreams! They even gave us access to a lot of contact for the works we wanted to do with our new home. How could you ever say thank you for such wonderful service that we experienced from both Glenn and Therese. I highly recommend them to my family, friends and Colleagues.
Fantastic, with out Glenn and his team we would still be struggling with mountains of paper work from several sources, all written in creek. Fox helped us through a short sell that actually ended up not being short!!! That's a real trick. Thanks again
If you want a team that is going to work diligently with your best interest in mind. I highly recommend Glenn and Fox Real Estate.

My experience with Glenn was a very positive one. He helped me buy a home in 2011 and now I am in my home enjoying recent updates to home, e.g.,kitchen, new flooring, new windows, etc. Due to my budget, Glenn showed me primarily short -sale homes. He helped me see past the dated interiors to see how I could create a home that would be suited for me. I worked with Glenn for , well, I think over 6 months to find my home. It was a long process and Glenn was really great through it all. I found Glenn to be highly trustworthy, knowledgeable about the housing industry, patient, extremely detailed oriented, honest, genuine, and very hard working. He also had an interesting perspective on homes--thoughts/concerns that I did not even think about--his advice was seriously invaluable to me. I also enjoyed interfacing with his wife, she works in their office and she was always highly professional and very delightful during our interactions.
I would highly recommend Glenn to anyone looking to complete a real estate transaction and is looking for a solid professional for their team.
Thank you very much Laurie! I received a copy of your review today from Zillow and it was a very pleasant surprise. I am so glad you are enjoying your new home. I am also very excited about the window you put in that looks out to Mount Diablo.
I have to give you a lot of credit for being patient. When I help clients buy or sell real estate, parts of the process are like a partnership and I really enjoyed working with you.
All the best and I hope to eventually see the finished product.
Glenn and his team are great. I would not even consider having another agent represent me for the purchase or the sale of another home. They are honest and very hardworking. Without their help I may not have sold my condo with pending litigation or been able to purchase my new house at the great price they were able to negotiate.
