We are very happy with Shoshone and Carlie. They´re a great team. When we started our home search we knew very little about Austin, only as tourists, and we were living and working in Houston. Right from the start they provided context about neighborhoods, about investment value, affordability, tax considerations, etc. They also interpreted very accurately what we were looking for in a house, our aesthetc preferences, our needs. Communication was constant and timely. Our limited presence in Austin was overcome by Shoshone and Carlie´s dedication and resourcefullness, by taking detailed videos and photographs that allowed us to make more comfortable decisions remotely. Carlie and Shoshone were also patient with our selectiveness and helped with the evolution of the concept of our house. When we finally found the house, they prepared us to be assertive and assisted wonderfly until the closing of the house. We hope to work with them again and again.

Q:A:No, this is not what earnest money is for. "earnest money" is actually a term and means "partial payment of money as a token or pledge to bind a contract or secure a sale." Your real estate agent gets paid a commission of the sale price once the home is closed and funded and is paid by the seller, not the buyer.
Q:A:You can absolutely find a home in and around Austin in that price range. There are not a lot of them, to be truthful, but you can find them and with a good real estate agent working with you, you should be able to find one quickly. Depending on the area you are looking for, there are more homes available in this price range than others. I would recommend getting a real estate agent to help you find what you are looking for and they will help you decide what areas are best for you. Good luck!
Q:A:Hello Michael, Yes, there are homes in Austin in that price range. They won't be in the city, but you can find some very cute homes not too far outside the city in that price range. The best areas really depend on what you are looking for. Do you want a short commute? Do you have children, or plan to in the near future? What size of home are you looking for? I have helped many of my clients relocate to Austin and I would be happy to help you find what you are looking for. Thanks, Carlie Strickland Elias & Associates Realty (512) 965-3038

A:If you have put an offer in on the home and it has been accepted, you should get an inspection done before your option period ends, which will cover any and all issues with the home. There is a Seller's Disclosure as well that you can review, but this will only tell you what the current owners know about the home. Good luck!
Q:A:You should for sure keep looking. Foundation problems are not an inexpensive fix and if it is too bad, your lender may not ok the loan once the inspection is done. I'd say find something else or if you really love the home, have your realtor find out if the seller can address the foundation issues themselves first. Good luck!

Q:A:It is a seller's market, but it is also a great location for an investment property as homes are in demand and if you are looking at buying and leasing, this is a great time to get in on this. The leasing market is hot and if you find the right property, it can be a great return for you. Let me know if you'd like my help finding something for you!
