- Helped me sell a home
I've known Bonny for ten years. I bought a unit in 2006 on Dana Street from her, and it struck me at the time how beautiful her picture presentation was and how professional she came across. Years later, she'd still be sending me Christmas cards. In 2017, I came to think of Bonny again when selling another unit I had acquired on the nearby Harvard Street. She was engaging from the outset. She not only took care of arranging for the photography--and she clearly has a knack for choosing the perfect lighting and the perfect angles--but by the first 24 hours, she had already done all the research on the building and the neighbourhood, and had studied the history of the condo association as well as other operational details relevant to the unit management. The next day, she had an ad on hand and had specific suggestions on the price listing. She gave me a checklist of what I needed to do and the exact paperwork I needed to have or collect. Knowing that I lived elsewhere and was busy with other matters, she then took upon herself to do the inspection and the repairs, as well as to change some of the gadgets and plumbing that were defective. She had the unit cleaned up and it was done professionally and efficiently still within the first few days. She helped me obtain the 6d from the condo association by paying for some of the outstanding maintenance fees herself so as to save me time. For viewing, she got in touch with the condo management and requested to have cleaning done at the entrance in order to make it more presentable. I was dumbfounded by her efficiency and professionalism. It takes a work alcoholic like myself to appreciate another one like Bonny. Bonny frequently would write to me late at night to give me progress. This may sound like an understatement, but I've found in her a one person team that seems to have every detail redundantly covered. By the end of the first week, we received 4 or 5 offers. While I would have caved in to one initial offer since it was what I had requested, she asked me to stay firm and to wait. In retrospect, this was a blessing since we ended up having a competing bid situation and my unit was sold at a substantially higher price than requested. I noticed that her way of negotiating is to stay simple, factual, and truthful, and I believe the prospective buyer(s) must have appreciated this approach just as I did on the other end 10 years ago buying a unit from her. For the subsequent paperwork, Bonny babysat through the entire process, all the way to the finish line. She had me use a lawyer who was competent and just as efficient. And she had all other logistics covered, including keys transfer and the last exchanges with the condo management. I essentially had to do nothing, other than going along with what she had mapped out. I've been involved with real estate before, both from a selling and a buying perspective. For my real estate transactions in Cambridge/Boston, about my only regret is that I did not engage Bonny in everyone of them. She would have saved me tons of time and she would have made them all effortless for me. My only advice for her throughout this process is what I kept telling her, "Bonny, you work too hard!!! Go rest for God's sake!" Truth be told, she's a perfectionist at heart and she really cares. If you are like me--a professional in another area, too busy to worry about the details that go into a real estate transaction--then you'd probably find out, just as I did, that working with Bonny is a dream come true and she'll babysit the process from the start to the finish line. All real estate agents should learn from her. And they'd all be equally successful and memorable. This is the very first review I've written for anyone or anything in decades, so I apologise for being so wordy. But I've found Bonny an exceptional professional, one of a kind, and I'd be remiss if I allowed this opportunity to slip by and not share and recount truthfully what she did for me.
