- Helped me sell a home
Ryan was terrific. I'll say that we're particular, high-touch, and complex clients with high expectations of process (as the length of this review might attest to) and Ryan was a champ through it all. We wanted to buy and then sell (so as to not displace our family) with minimum time in between (in that we listed after getting offer accepted on new home, but before closing new home with goal of only overlapping ownership of homes about 4-6 weeks. Not only that, but the house we ended up buying was being sold by a divorced couple *not* on good terms that couldn't agree between themselves and had a brand new agent that seemed to consider the details of the contracts more of suggestions that legal requirements. So Ryan had his work *really* cut out for him. With that as context, Ryan was incredibly responsive on both sides of the process (helping us prep/sell and find/purchase). I imagine there were no less than 200 calls/emails/meetups along the way that happened at random hours with varying degrees of urgency and Ryan was always super prompt in his response. If I didn't know him, it would be hard to believe he had outside obligations with family and his kiddos that he had to juggle around. And yet with all of that, he never ever let on any sense of inconvenience or frustration with my anal retentive type of questions and worrisome followups. I know that’s the job… but still, I don’t make it easy. :) In specifics to the purchase of the new home, he knew we put our search on hold at one point, but was still kind enough to still send us postings to keep us in the loop. When we found it, he helped us act quickly and get everything squared away. I mentioned the other agent was new… this was her first sale. She didn’t have the experience even to fill out the forms correctly, much less organize her clients or keep them on top of things. Half the time, she wouldn’t even convey negotiation messages with them or respond very quickly. Ryan pretty much had to do her job too to get us through to the end. I can’t and won’t even try to detail how crazy the selling situation was, but in talking to pretty much anyone about it, they were in as much disbelief as we were. Yet somehow, amidst all of that and the sellers repeatedly missing key dates, Ryan kept brainstorming and reworking things to still get us closed on the date we were targeting. The sale of our old home, while nothing so dramatic, still was fairly involved in terms of getting pre-inspections, everything fixed, and a game plan in place so that the moment we had our offer accepted on the old place, we were ready to immediately list and get the offer we wanted (more than we expected!) within in the targeted period of time. His general contractor experience repeatedly came into place as he helped us figure out what things to fix and how while staying on a budget. It was more than once that he came over and got his hands dirty helping me trouble shoot problems/solutions. Enough said (actually more than enough). Ryan is top notch and I’d recommend him to anyone. He’d be our first choice if we needed help again… but he pretty much landed us in our perfect home and so I’m hoping we won’t have the need of a real estate again in the near future… unless we venture into rental properties. :)
