My family and I, in the midst of a cross-country relocation to MN, started working with Alan roughly a year ago, to buy a Hanson builder model. About a month into the process of trying to find the model, we decided to build, and with both stages Alan was excellent. When shopping for a model, he never tried to oversell the house, which I greatly appreciated, and was very knowledgeable about all the specifics in the homes we were looking at (why the builder decided to do one specific thing vs. another). When we decided to build, Alan was absolutely instrumental to how happy we are today. Since we could not see the lots or models leading up to our decision, Alan was extremely diligent is listening to our wants and needs, and then suggesting the perfect blueprint and more-so the perfect lot for us. The lot we ended up purchasing, which we love, we were not even considering based on the platt maps before Alan suggested it to us, and then went out in 0 degree temperates last winter through the snow to take pictures from every angle to help us make our decision. Alan also suggested changes to the "model" blueprint to help achieve exactly what we were looking for. I don't think I could have gone from the model home to where we are now without his knowledge of what was possible, and how we could get exactly what we wanted. His background in construction really helped in this regard. Things I was disappointed I was not getting in my home because it wasn't on the initial blueprint, Alan easily helped me make the necessary structural changes to the prints to achieve my wants. Once we had decided on a lot and blueprint and entered the contract (his work could have been considered done at this point), I continued to work through him for builder communication in many regards. He was always very quick to respond to me, professional and operated with high levels of integrity. As we approached the closing date, he handled some details and worked closely with my loan officer to make sure everything was in order for a timely closing. I don't normally give anything a "perfect" review, but throughout the process I cannot think of one single thing Alan could have done better. A true professional, and I wouldn't even think of calling anyone else in the future whenever I need a realtor.
