I cannot recommend Mark Day highly enough! He helped us both to purchase our new home and to sell our old home, and his expertise was invaluable from the beginning to the end of the process. He twice made the trek to meet with us at our house to accommodate our limitations with two young kids, and he worked with our mortgage broker to find a way to accommodate our request to purchase a new house before selling our old one. He was unfailingly professional, patient, and encouraging throughout the buying and selling process, and always made himself available to answer our many questions promptly through phone and email. He even gave us a discount on our broker fees because we had worked with him in the past. And he continued to help us with questions even after both settlements were completed. When we found a house we liked as a result of an open house visit, Mark made himself available on (Super Bowl) Sunday afternoon to give us a second tour of the house on only a couple of hours notice. When we found out that same day that there were four other competing offers on the house, we relied on his experience to help us put together a bid that was attractive to the sellers and to pull the paperwork (including the pre-approval from the mortgage broker) together quickly enough to get the bid submitted in time to meet the sellers' deadline that same evening. Thanks to his experience and expert negotiating skills, we were able to beat out four other offers and obtain the house that we wanted! Mark also handled all the inspections and other issues that came up during the period between the contract date and the settlement date with minimal involvement from us, and negotiated a last minute reduction in our settlement costs. He even provided pizza for us and for all of our friends assisting us on move-in day! Thanks to him, we are in a house that perfectly suits our family. Mark also did a wonderful job selling our old house. He took the time to look over it in detail and provide helpful suggestions about what repairs/updates we should do to get it ready for sale, as well as recommending reliable people to do the work. He moved quickly to list the house once the repairs were done, and thanks to his photographer and stager, the online photos of the house were stunning. His strategy of waiting for several days to accept offers, until after the open house, resulted in several competing offers in a short period of time and a contract price on the house that was higher than our already aggressive listing price. He encouraged us and gave us good advice throughout the period leading up to settlement, despite frustrating delays and problems with the buyers' financing, and made himself available to patiently answer all my questions about the settlement sheet the day before the settlement. Mark is not only a realtor with significant knowledge and experience; he is also a man of integrity who genuinely cares about his clients. I would highly recommend his services to anyone who needs to buy or sell a home.
