Hakim Edwards is completely focused on his clientele’s real estate needs by carefully listening and understanding their requirements. He has listed, sold and rented properties all over Brooklyn, covering neighborhoods that include, Prospect Lefferts Garden, Flatbush, Midwood, Kensington, Park Slope, Prospect Heights, Crown Heights, Bed-Stuy, Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, Boro Park, Sunset Park, Bushwick and Williamsburg. As a native New Yorker, Hakim has a vast knowledge of Brooklyn’s diversity and its unique neighborhoods. He uses this knowledge to effectively match buyers to the most suitable locations and properties. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Queens, Hakim’s family is originally from Trinidad. Along with his family, Hakim lived in the Prospect Park Lefferts Garden for over 40 years. Hakim studied Hospitality Management at Cheyney University just outside of Philadelphia, a city where he lived for three years. Prior to entering real estate, he was a restaurant manager for nearly a decade, developing a keen sense for working under pressure, thinking fast on his feet, and providing superior service in all situations. Hakim’s extreme sense of urgency combined with his dedication to his clients’ best interests make him an effective, results-driven real estate professional. Hakim started his real estate career doing rentals for a small brokerage in Fort Greene and realized three months later that his passion was to sell real estate. Hakim decided to move to another boutique brokerage in Park Slope to focus on developing his sales skills. This move paid huge dividends, as within eighteen months he became the top agent for that firm. The following year Hakim moved to Prudential Douglas Elliman where he worked for over five years, and was named to the Prudential President’s Council in 2010. Hakim has sold multiple co-op units in such neighborhoods as South Midwood, Flatbush, Crown Heights, and Prospect Lefferts Gardens and numerous condo units in Bedford Stuyvestant and Prospect Lefferts Gardens. Hakim has also developed working professional relationships with co-op sponsors and condo developers. The developers and sponsors often use him as a sounding board regarding the market in the neighborhoods that Hakim constantly works in. They have used his market comparables for bank appraisals to help finance their developments. Outside of work, Hakim loves sports, particularly baseball, and is an avid chess player. He enjoys studying African-American history and is constantly reading books on the Negro Leagues. Hakim brings his love of New York and vast knowledge to Halstead Property to Landlords, Renters, Home-Buyers and Home-Sellers in beneficial transactions.
