We used Rubert Wilson as our buyer's agent. In this capacity, Rubert listened attentively to our stated desires and needs in a home on the Outer Banks of NC and determined our financial qualifications before he ever showed us properties. He did not show us properties out of our affordable price range, therefore, avoiding wasting time and elevating our hopes beyond our financial means. Rubert is by his own admission not a "salesman" but our agent committed to locating properties that fit our objectives and are within our means. He pointed out advantages and disadvantages of certain properties when appropriate but never attempted to steer us to properties the sale of which might have afforded him larger commissions. Once we had decided to make an offer to purchase on the property of our choice, Rubert executed the offer, explained it us in detail, interfaced very effectively with the listing agent, and assisted us with closing the transaction. We were extremely pleased with Rubert's responsiveness to our stated needs and desires, knowledge of the NC real estate process, and attention to detail, all performed within a strong code of ethics.
