4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBeckley elementary provides a subpar education. Teachers send home a great deal of homework that is nothing but busy work. Instructional time in the classroom appears to be minimal. After speaking with the administration about their ranking, they seem to be comfortable with their rating of 5. I was astonished. Our child has been a student at Beckley elementary for four years. We have had to supplement his education at home in order to stay on pace with other kids from the better schools. A positive note about the school--the teachers are nice.Parent Review9y ago

"Relocated to Beckley five years ago. Love it here! My street is quiet, everyone is nice, friendly but not intrusive. Ppl respect your privacy but will help if needed. They keep their yards neat. Community feeling and all major stores, hospital are close by. Nice place to live !"

"You better have your own vehicle cause there isn’t public transportation. Every house in Beckley is 2 to 5 miles away from a grocery store."

"They don’t keep them chained up. There are leash laws and people do not abide by them. And some people have dogs that bark non stop. That’s annoying. I hate being kept up all night by a barking dog. "

"Nothing bunch of old overpriced houses that someone hasn’t gotten appraised but selling it for $189,000. No kids play, no neighbors speak they just stare at you. When you do speak they just stare at you harder. But other than that nothing unique. Everyone is about their own life. You may be part of your neighbors life when they rob you looking for pills that you don’t have or break into your car looking for who knows what "
