5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJohn Muir is a great school. I've been there just 2 years of my school years. There is many activities that have grown that you/your child may participate in. I am very pleased to say I was a student there. Great school and everything, so much great things. Towards the end of each school year, every grade level always celebrated something fun. 8th grader, depending how their maturity, go to Wisconsin Dells, 7th Grader go to the Aquatic Center, it's just for them no public. &Lastly, the 6th grader go have fun Swimming and the Boys&Girls Club. John Muir has excellent hard-working teachers who are willing to put their time and effort everyday to make your child/you a better person. Since over the years the school has developed to create more programs for students. Such as High Math Classes, Science Classes, and Reading/English Classes. John Muir in many ways has changed me, shape me to be who I am today. The staff there are so loving and understanding, they always will listen to you or what you have to say. If you have an idea, tell the teacher! They are willing to make things happen. "The sun shines not only on us but in us." John Muir -Highlanders. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe recently moved to the area and our children had been in standard public, Montessori-style elementary, and Catholic schools previously. We have had generally good experiences with their previous schools. Being new to the area, we did not know much about the schools and were planning to put our daughters in a school where the attendance was not geographically tied so we could ultimately buy a house wherever we wanted. Our older daughter was enrolled in such a school, but our younger daughter was enrolled in Stettin because of limited enrollment at the school our older daughter attended. After 3 months, our experience at Stettin was so good that we decided to transfer our older daughter back to Stettin.Stettin is organized and the communication to parents is excellent. The school is welcoming and friendly, and the academics are excellent. They are able to provide individualized learning more effectively than any of the previous schools that my daughters have attended. My wife and I have been very impressed.Parent Review7y ago - West High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI enjoyed my years at West. The teachers were great, I really liked my counselor and I participated in the music programs and I LOVED IT! The diversity at the school is ok. If you weren't asian then you were white it seemed. That's just the demographics of Wausau but it is starting to get a little more diverse. The mod program really teaches students the importance of time management and that prepares them for college. Although, being a minority at the school does have it's challenges. Even though, I am not going to say that teachers are racist, there are teachers who do give privileges and biases to white students who are on sports and athletic teams. For example, being called out in the commons during off mods for doings such as playing with quarters. My friend and I noticed that another student who was white and on an athletic team was demonstrating rude and obnoxious behavior but the teacher did not say anything, however when we started to play with the quarters we were immediately approached and told to stop.Student Review10y ago - Check out schools near 408 S 68th Ave.
