2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHorrible. I'm in the 8th grade and graduating in 4 months. This school has no control over the students. Even the second graders are horrible. All the kid run out of class, cuss all the time, and there are always fights. Most teachers don't even teach. How do they expect to pass the Wisconsin Forward when they aren't even teaching what is on the test? Not to mention that most of the eight grade is on a 2nd - 6th grade reading and math level. Very horrible school. I do not recommend anyone to enroll their child in this school. Thank goodness this is my first and last year.Student Review5y ago - Maryland Avenue Montessori School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would recommend this school, they are great!! I have two children that attend RUHS, one is in all honors classes and the other the special education program. The one in the honors classes went to Reagan and found it too easy since she has been going to RUHS it has been more of a challenge, which is a good thing, it makes her have to study!! As for the one in the special education she is doing great and the support is wonderful. I am proud to say that both are holding a 3.0 GPA and above and are both involved in sports. Keep up the good work!!!! Thank you from a proud parent.Parent Review13y ago - Bradley Technology & Trade High School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageJust shameful. They donate a beautiful building and receive a school full of thugs that want to spend the day looking for fights. What a joke! They need a Lean on me moment when crazy Joe kicks out all the bad apples and allows all the kids who want to study a trade to actually pursue that trade.Parent Review12y ago - Milwaukee German Immersion School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTruly, I have been extremely happy with this school for the past 3 years. The staff truly care. They are very good at what they do, and they have a HUGE support system in the parents, volunteers, and PTA. The students learn interesting and important content - all while learning German. The kids are held to a reasonably challenging standard, and most kids seem to do well once they accept that challenge.Parent Review3y ago - Elm Creative Arts Elementary School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhat are these people talking about? Before I enrolled my children here, I heard nothing but good things. My friend told me she attended as a child and now her daughter attends. Worst decision I ever made. My kids have problems almost every single day. Office staff are sooooo rude, they don't even acknowledge you, you have to get their attention. My son told me a sub pushed a boy to the ground and the police were called. WTH!! Teachers do not have control of their classrooms. Complaints everyday. I will be taking my kids out of MPS. Only good thing I can say about that my kids teachers are really caring and really try to help, don't know about the other teachers though.Parent Review9y ago - Milwaukee High School of the Arts

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll three of my kids went to MHSA, and they had a great time at a diverse school. It prepared them for success at UW-Madison. They and their friends are such wonderful, interesting, talented young adults. Some students travel the world, some are becoming nurses and teachers and realtors and computer techies. Most MHSA students don't make a living at through the arts, but some do! It was ne Ed the idea that they would ALL become great artists, dancers, actors, writers, etc (though some are). That was never the point. The discipline and focus they learned by doing arts shaped them into productive, creative people. I can't imagine a place with more interesting teachers or students.Parent Review8y ago - Milwaukee School of Languages

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible. I expect if a school can reach out to me for discussion regarding my son, I should be able to reach out to them. If they can't provide such a simple professional standard I don't wish for my child to continue with this school. We are looking for other options for 8th grade.Parent Review5y ago - Milwaukee French Immersion School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids both started at this school in kindergarten and I was done with it by the time my daughter was in 6th grade and my son in 4th. Montessori schools are the best when your child goes to kindergarten there. They learn so much and because of the style of teaching your child will be a lot more advanced. As my kids were, they were so much more advanced in reading in math than other kids their age that didn't go to a Montessori school. Unfortunately once the children get into the higher grades, about 4th or 5th, it's as if they just stop teaching them and don't really help out with any problem areas. The whole Montessori philosophy is to have children be independent as possible (look it up) so they basically have to figure things out on their own. It's just wasn't working out anymore. Montessori school is a great start for kids in kindergarten but after that, not so great.Parent Review6y ago - Ronald W. Reagan IB High School

1/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been a WCLL parent since 2000. I had four children go thier. I love that i only had one school to go to for conferences. I knew all the staff and they know my children. The Curriculum is well taught and implemented. My son went to another school for three years. Then I sent him back he is sooooo happy to see friend he had since K4. I love the school. Im thinking about influencing my daughters to send my Grandchildren their. I am so happy that the school has moved closer to me.Parent Review10y ago - Golda Meir School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageReally great. Golda Meir is growing-- they are building up the high school. I have high regard for their teachers, the arts program, the STEM program, the travel opportunities, and their leadership. Is this school perfect? No, but it is darn good if you are committed to public schools, want socioeconomic diversity, kindness, and opportunities for gifted children (in many areas) to shine.Parent Review4y ago - Lloyd Barbee Montessori School

"I’ve lived here for 5 years and love it. It is a village like feel within a big city and I’ve raised my small children here happily. Being a part of the big city, you do have to stay guarded and aware of your surroundings during late hours or in narrow streets. "
