4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy twins just completed kindergarten through 5th grade at Lincoln. I waited six years to write this review to ensure that I had a complete picture of the school. This school is SO MUCH MORE than the sad little "3" rating this website gives it. I feel unbelievably lucky that we ended up buying a house in this neighborhood and our kids got to experience this gem of a school. Just some of our experiences and observations:1. One of my twins is neurotypical. He had an excellent experience at Lincoln, with small class sizes, truly caring teachers, and opportunities to pursue more advanced learning when ready. He made great friends and blossomed. 2. One of my twins is neurodiverse. He had an excellent experience at Lincoln, with small class sizes, truly caring teachers, and opportunities to pursue more advanced learning when ready. His kindergarten teacher will always be the gold standard of teachers in my mind; she saw his strong intellect and tender heart first, always, and saw his emotional and behavioral issues as challenges to help him work through. She eased his way to first grade when he was so anxious about leaving her, and each of his subsequent teachers taught his next teacher how to bring out the best in him. Thanks to these teachers, what could have been a painful and stressful place turned into one of his favorite places to go. In six years he never said he didn't want to go to school that day. His 5th grade teacher's care, support and great teaching has ensured that he's going to middle school feeling confident and ready. 3. The library is the heart of the school, and it's huge, has a great selection of books, comfortable places to hang out, and an excellent librarian who engages kids and helps them love reading.4. Counselors make regular visits to the classroom to provide age-appropriate lessons on managing emotions and conflict.5. The family resource center provides all kinds of assistance for Lincoln families, including food, clothes, and company. 6. Lincoln's classrooms are modern and comfortable, and the playground is large and well-maintained.7. Extra-curricular activities are unusually strong for the elementary school level, including track for 4th and 5th graders, band, a theater program, etc. If you're thinking about sending your kids to Lincoln, don't hesitate. It's a wonderful place.Parent Review10mo ago - Discovery Middle School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averageso i went here for the past three years and i actually hated it. in the moment i didnt realize how bad it was and thought everyone had a bad middle school experience but i was WRONG. once i left for high school i was shook to my core. turns out it’s actually possible for people to be kind to people they dont know, and pay attention in class without random kids screaming. when i say nobody cares or listens i mean it. i got good grades and stuff because thats who i am it had nothing to do with this school. honestly majority of teachers are kind hearted and care but they kids make it so had for them to do so. i’ve seen many of my teachers crack under the pressure and its even worse to see especially once i've moved schools and see that there are actually normal students in schools. all the kids do drugs just saying right i dont care if you think you know a “good” kid trust me their doing it too. nobody gets in trouble. honestly fire the security guards they dont do anything anyways they just like to play besties with the kids.Other Review3mo ago - Check out schools near 1126 W 30th St.

"The vibe is so old world charm with the upbeat personality of the younger community that’s in downtown. Local to many mom and pop shops people know you better first name. They will also not hesitate to tell you if they feel something is up, with you or the neighbors. Perfect small town snack in the middle of down town"
