7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIn my experience, parents with a student of color really have to advocate. There's a misconception that all of the minority students are "choice in" students and you can tell. I felt like I had to advocate for my student's advanced status to be taken seriously. Only at the end of the year was my student given some work that challenged them. I get that they couldn't take my word for my kid's academic prowess but they didn't even investigate. Half way through the year all of sudden they seemed shocked by what I'd been staying all along. The ancillary teachers and staff were awesome but I didn't love my student's general education experience. I also felt the principal was aloof and unapproachable. My student had a teacher who was a veteran teacher and just didn't seem to care or seemed distracted. I felt like many of my concerns were met with a smile but fell on deaf ears. Name wise this school has clout but I didn't feel like the experience was superior.Parent Review7mo ago - Meeker

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you don’t mind your kids making out in bathrooms, kids getting jumped and staff looking away, drugs being distributed in school, then here you go. The principal that doesn’t even send his own kids to the school. Safety is an extreme major issue here. Several teachers are horrible at teaching, and mean to the students. Curriculum is below standards. In my opinion, the staff here are just in the school to get paid and not because they enjoy their job and it shows.Parent Review1y ago - Stadium

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStadium has wonderful extra-curricular activities, including a wide variety of sports. The theater program and clubs are great. Stadium offers a quality education to prepare students for college, and College in the High School classes are accessible for all students. Awesome experience!Other Review4mo ago - Check out schools near 512 Klapache Avenue NE.

"I have lived here since 2017 and I absolutely love this neighborhood. It's quite, friendly, safe and very child friendly. There is never any crime and you hardly ever hear emergency sirens. Every single neighbor has been wonderful and polite except one. "

"Best place to live in DC. It’s a beautiful neighborhood that is urban but not downtown. It’s all about the park and trail, tons of restaurants, things to do, grocery stores, markets, bar. Has its own metro in easy walking distance and a trail that connect you to the east side of the city. "

"NoMa Bid has been creating a huge sense of community in Eckington and NoMa. For one they keep the area so clean and you always see their workers sweeping the sidewalks, changing trashing, maintenance at the dog park. And then there’s the events, most at the A.T. Park and the MBTrail. Movie in the park, farmers market, holiday events like pumpkin patch/contest, and of course the mural walls festival. The trail and park have beautiful murals everywhere and each year local artist renew most of them. (NoMa in Color). Also the dog parks is a big vibe in the area, Eckington Dog Park is the best in the city, but there are 4 in the area. Also, Bouldering Project is a cool bouldering and fitness gym. Theres tons of grocery, restaurants, bars and beer gardens, etc. it’s surround by Union Market, Brookland, Shaw, H Street… all connect my the MBT (bike/walk trail) and NoMa/Gallaudet Metro Station (subway). "20 minutes to town, one can go through downtown 25 mph or there are other roads through the countryside that have no lights and higher speed limits to get to the other end of town. 30 min to Carson City. One hour to Reno"
