6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to school here from 2014-2018 and it was the best experience. My siblings still attend school here, and love it as well. All of the teachers and staff care about your learning and who you are as a person! I was in the musical department and it was such an amazing time and a great benefit to my high school experience!!Other Review1y ago - Sheridan Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOverall, Chase is a decent school. It has some things it needs to work on, like certain teachers being disrespectful or not being fit to work with students, but most of the teachers really care about students and are passionate about what they do. Student-wise, it is very typical for a middle school. The school is very good about disciplining students and accommodating students with disabilities or issues. The lunches are not very good; they serve the same thing almost every day. The sports are pretty well-funded, and there a few clubs to join. The electives are really fun, especially Drama and Art. It's an average school, and the success that your child has really depends on themselves.Student Review6mo ago - Check out schools near 3904 E 8th Ave.

What Locals Say about East Central

"People are friendly. The place has completely de eloped and it continues to grow. There’s a close night market as well once a week."

"There are children around but only by necessity as rent is very cheap here. It is absolutely not friendly, one of the most dangerous areas in Spokane. Prolific trash and dumping, as well as a very heavy homeless population. There are obvious signs of drug use, as well as public drug use sightings increasing. People drive extremely fast and recklessly depending on the road. Not a place for children."

"There are a lot of dogs here. Some people clean up after their dogs. Some dogs are loose because of homeless population. Not a family friendly area."

"This neighborhood has a great mix of young and old, families and single folks. You are close to downtown without any of the drawbacks of being downtown. "

"This neighborhood is centrally located and culturally diverse. ours had a rough history that it seems to be outgrowing in the two years I've lived here."

"Can be questionable at night because we are so close to the freeway, but lots of kids in the neighborhood and a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds. "

"Up-and-Coming area. Noticing daily, it seems like there's more and more homes in the process of gentrification, or a new family is moving in. There are some really great folks who live in the area. Excited to see what East Central will look like in the next 3 years - in the mean time, I'm going to enjoy my life here."

"besides traffic, which I've mostly gotten used to, it's a very quiet neighborhood (at least on our street). I've heard mixed things about the area, but what seems to be most true is the fact that it really can change from street to street, like drastically (or so I hear). I did not grow up in Spokane, so I don't know every area, but I love where I live currently."

"East Central is very hit or miss, one block is nice, the next is really bad, and so on. There can be a lot of police activity depending on the street too."

"We’ve lived here for 16 years. We love the proximity to every convenience...downtown, hospitals, Perry St, parks, shopping etc. We’ve witnessed a big upturn in the neighborhood. Pride of ownership and friendly neighbors, enthusiasm about the area "

"I have lived in the South Perry District since 1996. I moved to Spokane from the Bay Area and I really love this area. It has the feel of downtown Berkley, and the comfort of May berry. I have 3 kids and it has been a great area to raise my kids. Our neighbors are great. We take walks throughout neighborhood and love seeing our neighbors out and about. Great place to raise a family."
