6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs a former student of this school i do not recommend this school or at least right now this school was built in 1957 when i walk into the cafeteria on the wall near the doors i see 5-9 awards but that means nothing just a plastic poster with a year and how well the school did on that year its really impressive how good they kept the school saying it has lasted like 75 years with no rebuilding i really hope i was born 7-8 years later so i could go to the new building the building itself is just old saying how long ago it was built maybe your child is in 2st grade well maybe go to this school if your child is in 5st grade in 2021 dont suggest going right now choose another school this place is way to crowded with the old building and that's why i said if you or your child is 2nd or lower by that time they are in 5-7th they would have built the new design with bigger student capacity and space to learn the teachers are good its just if you listen or if you really want to learn as a person that Procrastinate when i can it sure isnt good but i sure did learn a lot just paying attention and turning in work the school sure does have a lot of feild but they did not design it properly most common sport is just frisbee looking at the plans of them making a two floor school that could save a lot of space and expand more for students to learn i really think if your child is going to turn 6th grade in fall of 2025 then try putting them in this school with the teachers that stuck with this school for more than 10 years of teaching the same thing and a new design that could fit more students i really think they could get 2-20 more plastic posters with another 64ish years of opening wish you luck on how you choose your childs school just hope you dont put your child in this school from 2021-2024 because its already crowded and how much portables they had to put out around the school to have place for students to learn school board did rearrange some people to go to other schools because of the overcrowded school i really just hate how it took them 64ish years and now they are planning on rebuilding with the councils pending on signing the "landmark structure" they really care more about keeping old buildings then how much quality the students will learn when staying in the building good thing they are not being cheap this time and having a 152.5M dollars budget wish you and your child the best and hope you find a good school for them to be eduacted inOther Review2y ago - Franklin High School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe were worried that our teen, coming from a small private school, would have difficulties at such a large, diverse high school. Franklin High was the best choice we ever could have made. Our teen is getting more from the experience at Franklin than we ever dreamed. The kids are great, welcoming, tolerant, fun, and even polite to adults (I always appreciate that). The academics are challenging and prepare students well, as our teen's PSAT scores would attest. AP and honors classes make for lots of homework, but there is also plenty of fun happening too. Our teen is stronger, smarter, and happier because she goes to Franklin. There is not a bunch of privileged, entitled kids expecting everything to be handed to them, judging others who have less. It's a good place to be.Parent Review9y ago - Kimball Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter in her 5th year at Kimball has had stellar, experienced teachers each year at Kimball. She tested into HC and could have moved to Thurgood Marshall, but we have been so happy with her experience, teachers, Current Principal and the real world diversity of cultures and ethnicities, why would we move her?Other Review7y ago - Check out schools near 3437 16th Avenue S.

"Beacon Hill feels like a secret. I can walk down to the International District, ride my bike anywhere, drive in Seattle in 5 minutes or jump on the 90 and be in Bellevue in 15 minutes. The apartment sizes here are great too."

"Traffic has increased in the last few years. Cyclist friendly. It’s not so bad. There’s a little problem with the asian supermarkets on 12th ave that usually block one out of two lanes wich creates traffic when coming from downtown trough the Dr. Rizal Bridge. "

"Everyone is usually very kind. People smile at each other on the streets. There is a large population of Mexican and Somalian culture in the community which is wonderful to see. We have a little community garden where people can plant flowers and fruits and vegetables. "

"Seattle's best secret pocket, I've chose to live here in three different homes over the course of 30 years. A short bike or medium walk to downtown. A quiet, diverse, and un-hyped neighborhood. I travel often and I really appreciate that you can get to Sea-Tac in under 15min driving or 24min by light rail."

"This is a super quiet neighborhood which is right next to a beautiful park. In the summer you can feel free to walk into the I-90 trail and enjoy the Seattle Sun. In the winters and other seasons you still have access to the biking trails and amazing food at International district. "

"I've lived here for 2 years and have seen a lot of change in reference to new construction and more new families moving in. The urban village is community-centered and local! I hope it stays that way! Great parks!"

Two lightrail stations within 5-15 min walking distance and two blocks from bus stops. I-5 access and I-90 access within minutes. "My family has lived in the north end of Beacon hill for 6 years. First off, our neighbors!! I can say they are truly frieds! We have parties and swap child care. They take care of our cat when we are away and watch our home. It is an extended family here! And now, within walking distance, we have an awesome neighborhood pub, a fancy pizza/italian restaurant, vegetarian Indian, and great Mexican food! Kimball elementary is an awesome grade school with an open classroom concept and great diversity! Not to mention the convenience of the lightrail (my husband can be in his seat at the Sounders game in 15 minutes!), freeway access, and the beautiful improved Jefferson Park - complete with water play area for the kiddos, ziplines, and fun slides/playground equipment, and a skate park!! Our neighborhood is the best kept secret in Seattle - SHHHH!"
