Class work is rigorous.Stats are skewed on this page because many students opt to do Running Start next door at the community college. This makes it tough to fill AP classes. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere are a lot worse schools in our area. While the overall experience is mostly good. There are a lot of areas for improvement. I'm going to spend my time talking about safety.Anyone could come in and pick up your kid. Anyone. So long as the kid doesn't say something about not knowing someone or that they shouldn't go with them. That kid is gone. There are zero ID checks, zero questions other than "who are you here to pick up?" Or they will just ask "are you dad/mom?" To which anyone Could just say yes to and they are fine with that answer. No other questions at all. I have emailed the principal and the superintendent about this. And they "implemented change" and sent out an email about the changes. But my wife went in and experienced the exact same thing afterwards! No change occured. I don't feel engaged or a part of my daughters school experience, class, or teachers other than what she talks to me about personally. And I even volunteer twice a week at the school.Again. Not a bad school overall. But they need to take things much more seriously about security. Especially in today's day and age. They also need to step up billy intervention. I've heard story after story after story about bullying and how teachers and staff do nothing to combat it.Parent Review7mo ago

"We really don’t do any community events. We don’t even get trick-or-treaters during Halloween because there isn’t much of a sidewalk. The beauty of this neighborhood is you have neighbors when you need them, but otherwise they keep to themselves, mainly."

"The bus comes right in front of my house easy access to anything you need Just 3 blocks from town one block from Kaiser 4 blocks from the hospital The neighborhood is very friendly"

"Very busy highway! Not a good neighborhood for animals unless you have a secure safe fenced yard! We have lived here for two yrs plus, and lost two cats! Otherwise great location to everything!"

"I grew up on Cowin Ct, then moved to O.B.Hwy between 38th and 40th from elementary through high school. As an adult, I moved back to the area (Cottonwood St) with my husband and two children because I know the area is the best in Longview, plus Mint Valley elementary school is one of the better schools for my soon-to-be Kindergartner. After 10 years of being away and moving back to this area, it's the same as I remember. The neighborhood has kids playing and the neighbors are very friendly."
