3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageRecently changed name to Kent Laboratory Academy. KMVA merged with Kent Phoenix Academy (school for credit recovery). The school used to be a small alternative school for kids who needed a smaller environment than the mainstream schools. The principal is trying to turn it into an "academically rigorous" school but that is not why families chose this school. By student did better because of the quieter, smaller environment.Would be better with a different principal.I'm sad that I can't recommend this for high school. There is little direction about college prep, beyond enrolling in Running Start, but even that had to be pushed for. There are no extracurriculars, but they also don't help connect students with activities at their boundary schools.Good grade school classes. Middle school is a good option if your child needs to escape the standard hellscape of middle school.Parent Review2y ago - Kentlake High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSchool is riddled with racism, underqualified staff, poor communication, and absolutely no morals. Recently there is a class project where children are instructed to write about a country, most kids are encouraged but not required write about their own country of lineage but the United States is not allowed to be included in this. So any Native Americans are excluded from writing about their own country. Students are shamed for being from certain counties that fall into political categories. Very young students are encouraged to make life altering choices to their bodies and legal records. Very backwards. This school has been nothing but horrible experiences every year. Too bad I'm too poor to pack up and move out of Kent, but when the opportunity is there you can bet that one of the top reasons is the ridiculously yet accurately poorly rated Kent School District- great job at being one of the worst!Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 26029 119th Drive SE.

"My work is 11 miles from where I live, if you leave after 6:30 am it’s a 25 min commute. Same with coming home. After 3, 20 to 30 min commute on side streets. If you get behind a school bus might as well park your car and start walking, it will be quicker."

Because you have any animals you places is ruined."

"A lot of people want to touch your dog and a lot of people have cats so if you’re pet is not friendly then don’t let them touch it and keep your dog away from people’s cats because that will be a horrible confrontation."
