The home has a pleasant sea-green exterior with stone-facade pillars that hold up a small porch. Just inside the door to the left, behind two glass doors, is a study or studio space. It features a high window that lets in plenty of light to illumine the mind and bolster the spirit. Further in, the living room is cozy with surround sound speakers and a bright red wall. It is the color of firecrackers or a Radio Flyer wagon. It has three windows that are sheltered from the afternoon sun. The kitchen is open and bright. Here one can marinate pork ribs in preparation for a backyard party. Now, down the hallway are two more bedrooms, each with its own color and atmosphere. The first is painted the colors of Earth, and the master suite is the color of a stormy sea. In the backyard stands two maple trees like skeleton sentinels. There is a covered porch out back and a lovely, fully landscaped, green lawn (thanks to a subterranean sprinkler system). This yard is America. It begs for games of catch and Annie-Annie-over. It begs for long nights filled with barbeque smoke and beer. It begs for bare feet on the grass, running pell-mell without a care in the world. This yard makes the most cynical of salesmen, bankers, and automotive dealers strip off their shoes and begin doing cartwheels in the afternoon sun. It brings back the inner child and gives the soul wings with which to soar like an eagle across the lawn with a wooden sword and bicycle helmet. Even the most cynical minds of science suddenly remember what biology is all about and plant flowers in the raised beds, delight in butterfly wings and rosehip tea, and sing silly songs about spring. Perhaps it is here that you, dear peruser of homes, will find laughter and freedom to sing, to dance, to love, to live unshackled like the sparrows or the woodpeckers, and frolic in hope and happiness in the privacy of this glorious backyard.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe principal at this school is fantastic and very responsive. My daughter is enjoying her teachers and is in the honors program here as well as track. I have not regretted sending my daughter here at all! I think that Southridge is an all-around great school and they truly care about the kids. I do wish the drama and music programs were even better, and that the parents were more involved, but I believe that lack of parental involvement is becoming an epidemic all over the U.S.Parent Review10y ago

"Annual neighborhood yard sale. Nothing else comes to mind. We do have sidewalks on both sides and roads are well lit with street lights. Not any events other than the yard sale. We use to have an annual Easter egg hunt and picnic but don’t anymore. "
