Nevertheless, as the data suggests, underprivileged and underrepresented students receive inadequate academic and social support. Unfortunately how students are treated by the elementary office staff is dependent upon their socioeconomic status. Despite a lot of community support the special education program is a disaster and bullying is a perpetual problem. "I live right by the school so commuting to work (and getting my kids to school) is very easy. Even if I need to use my car to go anywhere, nothing to too far away unless you need to go to Longview. But that’s still just 20 miles away. "

"We have a Bald Eagles day in July which is our own spin on the 4th of July. Our community is also very involved in our school so social nights at the school are always like a big ‘family’ reunion. "

"Cathlamet is a beautiful community! It's right on the Columbia River and has the best salmon and sturgeon fishing. Surrounded by wildlife and a very strong community presence. It is not a place to come if you are a party animal. It is the best place to live if you have a family or want to retire! It is very laid back and peaceful yet there is a lot to do."
