6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've now had two of my children attend Hazelwood Elementary. My eldest shares its some of his best years and great memories. Never had any issues with bullying and had teachers he could trust and count on. The principal is top notch on communication. I feel my children are safe in this school and they have handled emergencies better than surrounding schools. My youngest is in special needs education and I've been pleased with our experience. I do wish to see my son utilize more of the school from comparison to Arthur Jacobson, he's in an ECE program. More assemblies, performances, playing at the playground etc. as some examples. Overall, I think it's a terrific school and I feel good about sending my children here for their education.Parent Review1mo ago - Rainier Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageUncontrolled bullying that I was warned about prior to attending. Staff does not get involved, even had to seek legal support outside of school because of how bad it got. My son admitted to me, he wished he went to a different school when he first started Jr. High. I know to not let my other children attend this school in the future.Parent Review1mo ago - Auburn Mountainview High School

What Locals Say about Auburn
- Jorge Saavedra

"For dog owners specifically, they shouldn’t run into a problem. I do take notice in the fact that a lot of neighbors own pit bulls and with that comes the violent stereotype of aggressive pit bulls. Maybe depending the size of the dog some people might want to steer clear of those with pit bulls and rather go to a dog park or something like that."
- Maxwell Hayes

"Too many hills. Many stray/loose dogs that are aggressive. Personally have been attacked while walking my dog."

"Every Fourth of July people will go out in the street and light off fireworks. It’s a nice event that everyone participates in and usually people are pretty clean about it."

"I hear gunshots at least 3 out of 7 nights per week, sometimes more. I know there have been home invasions and drive by shootings very near to where I am. I would not raise a family here. "

"I've lived in many different parts of Auburn over the past 3 years. Over the years the local area gets worse and worse with homeless people and drug addicts everywhere. there are sirens blaring 24/7, it is not safe to leave packages at your door. my bbq was stolen off of my porch along with a bike and a small padio set. you can not leave your car unlocked for fear of will be raided and or stolen."
