2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a great high school. My cousin went here a while back and now works in the school district and only has had good things to say. One thing that's great and rare is the incredible diversity. There is also a new building as of a couple years ago. Auburn "takes care of its own" as one neighbor told me when I moved in- we look out for each other and vote to fund education properly. The teachers and staff on up to the Auburn School District Superintendent are caring and hold kids to a high standard. There are a lot of great programs offered and I'm not sure why Great Schools is giving this school a low rating because the school is excellent academically as well, perhaps the demographics are working against the school? If you are considering this area and school I'd recommend it. The only thing that should worry you are lahars from Mt. Rainier ;)Parent Review3y ago - Cascade Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBasicly this is kinda mid. It has some good stuff like teachers teaching. But I don't feel like everybody works together at this school and is generaly "good". The food is pretty good but the LINES for it are TERRIBLE. If you end up at the back the line you get 5 mins to eat out of your 10, so you spend a lot of time in line that kinda sucks. ALSO clubs are pretty good for the school and overall improve it. Sadly its not FREE and and neighborhood around the school is VERY sketcky making for unsafe walking home. PLUS the students don't really care about school that much and their grades, explaining just why students are failing their tests for this school. People are constantly swearing and doing other goofy behavier like SEXUAL HARRASMENT in the HALLWAYS. (And bathrooms.) On top of that People are SMOKING and CONSTANTLY LITTERLY AND SELLING DRUGS IN THE SCHOOL. ITS TRASH.Student Review1y ago - Evergreen Heights Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageEvergreen Heights Elementary has been a fantastic experience for my family. I was initially hesitant to transition my children from homeschooling to public school, but the staff at Evergreen Heights have been incredibly supportive and understanding of our cultural and religious practices. They have gone above and beyond to keep us informed and involved in our children's education, making us feel welcomed and valued. I am grateful for the positive impact this school has had on our family and would highly recommend it to others.Parent Review2mo ago - Check out schools near 1337 52nd St NE.

What Locals Say about Auburn

"For dog owners specifically, they shouldn’t run into a problem. I do take notice in the fact that a lot of neighbors own pit bulls and with that comes the violent stereotype of aggressive pit bulls. Maybe depending the size of the dog some people might want to steer clear of those with pit bulls and rather go to a dog park or something like that."

"Too many hills. Many stray/loose dogs that are aggressive. Personally have been attacked while walking my dog."

"Every Fourth of July people will go out in the street and light off fireworks. It’s a nice event that everyone participates in and usually people are pretty clean about it."

"I hear gunshots at least 3 out of 7 nights per week, sometimes more. I know there have been home invasions and drive by shootings very near to where I am. I would not raise a family here. "

"I see people walking their dogs in the area all the time. Sidewalks are well lit and maintained. only downside is the lack of trash cans for people to put the dog poop in."

"There is hardly any public transportation that makes it up to the reservation. There is one bus very early in the morning and the parking spaces at the train station always fill up, so just plan on driving your car everywhere."

"Lakeland Hills is a beautiful community. We’ve lived here for two years and have loved it! It feels very safe, great for walking, and our kids love the many parks around. Restaurants, gas, and a grocery store are conveniently close. In my opinion, it’s the best neighborhood in Auburn. "

"I've lived in many different parts of Auburn over the past 3 years. Over the years the local area gets worse and worse with homeless people and drug addicts everywhere. there are sirens blaring 24/7, it is not safe to leave packages at your door. my bbq was stolen off of my porch along with a bike and a small padio set. you can not leave your car unlocked for fear of will be raided and or stolen."

"Homelessness and filth abound. Property is trespassed regularly and theft is common. Upkeep of the area is pathetic. Drugs are prevalent. People are rude. Employees with certain institutions take after the vagrants of the street in their conduct and demeanor. Recommend residency elsewhere. "
