2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is a great high school. My cousin went here a while back and now works in the school district and only has had good things to say. One thing that's great and rare is the incredible diversity. There is also a new building as of a couple years ago. Auburn "takes care of its own" as one neighbor told me when I moved in- we look out for each other and vote to fund education properly. The teachers and staff on up to the Auburn School District Superintendent are caring and hold kids to a high standard. There are a lot of great programs offered and I'm not sure why Great Schools is giving this school a low rating because the school is excellent academically as well, perhaps the demographics are working against the school? If you are considering this area and school I'd recommend it. The only thing that should worry you are lahars from Mt. Rainier ;)Parent Review3y ago - Olympic Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageLiterally go to any other school. I had to go to the superintendent to get a response from the principal about what happened to my son at school. He came home with a bloody nose one day and a concussion the next. Kids here are doing terrible when it comes to testing. They do not follow IEPs at all and do not respond to emails regarding the matter. If I had the opportunity, I would pull my son from this school. A few teachers take a slight interest in the kids that's what the one star is for, but it is far and few between. Hopefully this change in staff will improve the school but I doubt it. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTerrible! Bathrooms are gross with urine on the floor in boys bathroom. Hallway smelled like urine last week. Drop off and pickup is horrible with cars coming all directions. It's an accident waiting to happen :( No one seems to care. "For dog owners specifically, they shouldn’t run into a problem. I do take notice in the fact that a lot of neighbors own pit bulls and with that comes the violent stereotype of aggressive pit bulls. Maybe depending the size of the dog some people might want to steer clear of those with pit bulls and rather go to a dog park or something like that."

"Every Fourth of July people will go out in the street and light off fireworks. It’s a nice event that everyone participates in and usually people are pretty clean about it."

"I hear gunshots at least 3 out of 7 nights per week, sometimes more. I know there have been home invasions and drive by shootings very near to where I am. I would not raise a family here. "
