5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMany of the teachers are great. The principal lacks leadership skills and appears to be phoning it in. Her main trick is smiling a lot while nodding her head while repeating jargon. We're wishing for a new principal who is inspired, intelligent and creative.Parent Review10y ago - Edmunds Middle School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageProbably an okay school if your child doesn't have a disability and/or isn't gifted. In my family's experience, the school does not support my child with a physical disability and does not challenge them or acknowledge their other gifted areas. If your child has a disability, know that you may need to fight the school at every step of the way. I would recommend not trusting that they are providing support and doing regular check ins with the teacher/school.No parking, let alone for a child and/or parent with a disability (one parallel "handicap" parking space without access to get a chair out, and that a staff member parks in). Had to carry my child down the street to get to and from school too many times. The one bright spot at this school is one of the Kindergarten teachers (Mrs. Blair) who is a gem.Other Review2y ago - Edmunds Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur daughter is in her 3rd year at IAA and we all feel that it's a great fit for her. The teachers are all very caring and creative. The school takes any issues that are important to you as a parent or important to the child seriously and works jointly to resolve any concerns/issues. The PTO is highly engaged and comes up with wonderful events for the students and families throughout the school year. We have schools that are closer to our home, but this school continues to impress us. The focus is on integrated the arts (music, dance, visual arts, drama and creative writing) in to all disciplines of learning. The students are given the opportunity to move, interact with their peers and be creative all day. If your child likes to focus quietly on a project, there is time for that as well. The Monday and Friday full school gatherings are a wonderful example of the school's energy and definitely check those out when considering this school for your child.Parent Review9y ago - Check out schools near 52 N Union St #2.

"Burlington is such a good community and a great place to raise a family. As in any city, be aware of your surroundings when going out at night, but I would rate burlington as one of the safest (small) cities in the country. "

"Nothing is too far from anything here. Compared to our old home in Seattle, this is a breeze. Very bikeable. Haven’t used the bus system yet. "
- Allison B.

"Folks tend to tailgate pretty bad, and road rage is increasing as more out of staters move to vermont. More traffic, so more incentive to take public transit. Roads need a lot of help. Commute to surrounding towns takes little time if it’s not rush hours."

"Best neighborhood in Baltimore. clean, close to both Fells point and canton, a true gem of a neighborhood. "

"Being the oldest and most diverse neighborhood in Burlington, the Old North End lends a unique charm and character to the city. The Queen City would be sorely lacking without this neighborhood. It can be loud and some of the buildings can use some TLC, but those are the most minor of qualms and should be expected in any city neighborhood. McMansionville this is not, thank goodness. "
- Akinnart

"There are a lot of families in the neighborhood. There is a park with hiking trails just across the street. Easy access to two bike paths. There is a grocery store, hardware store, pediatricians office, kids dentist and a could restaurants within a five minute drive (15-20 min walk). And the elementary school is just around the block. "

"I own a dog and even though she doesn't like other dogs much we still make it out at least three times a day. Almost everyone leashes their dog, only twice has some dog bounced happily toward my growling boxer mix. No incidents."

"There are not enough dog parks and a lot of houses/apartments do not have yards. A lot of people in the neighborhood seem to be afraid of dogs. "

"It’s a family friendly neighborhood close to everything! It’s unique in that there are 3 bike paths including trails that lead to lake Champlain which is only about 5 to 10 minute walk! Take another short walk to Ethan Allen park or cross country ski there in the winter including a wooden bridge that leads to Ethan Allen homestead. Enjoy craft beers at the simple roots brewery which is literally a 5 min walk. "

"I’ve lived in this neighborhood for 23 years. I love its closeness to everything while maintaining a country feel."
