"Its ok. Nothing to write home about. There is a mix of old and young. You will see the occassional "street walker" especially at night, and you hear occassional gun shots especially when its hot. Its the hood...what else can I say?"

"Parkview is a great neighborhood, where you can walk on the many sidewalks and can view the beautiful tidal tributary that feeds into the Elizabeth River. It has a very friendly atmosphere, and you never hear any road noise. Just a short walk to Olde Towne."

"It’s not bad but I have to pay tolls. Tolls are expensive and make me want to move away. Also, the houses are old and most aren’t updated or move in ready"

"None...Sad but true . I do wish that our community was a bit more engaged and more activities were provided for families very seldom do we have parades and small events in the downtown area but outside of that Portsmouth doesn't make an attempt to bring the community get together ,keep it clean, and safe for that matter. Portsmouth Virginia needs change. I would for once like to take pride in where I live doesn't have to be top-of-the-line to be comfortable safe enjoyable. Sometimes I sit and I wonder and what can we do to make Portsmouth a better place."

"Close to interstates, easy commute to olde Town, Navy Yard or hospital, Chesapeake square, etc. It feels like we are in the middle of Hampton roads. we're no more than 25 minutes from most of the major Hampton roads spots like downtown Norfolk, Greenbriar, Town center VB, Town center hampton... Great spot to be."

"Dog owners would like that there’s a park near by, and wouldn’t like that neighbors complain about your dogs barking (if they do). Or having neighbors dogs harass your dogs at the fence. "

"Truly Ghent in Portsmouth with one of a kind homes on wide curved streets. Not a cookie cutter neighborhood! Walking is popular here along the off the main road water front. Sunsets are fantastic as you are fully facing the west along most of the waterfont. Charm and well built characterize these homes."
