7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your kid doesn't need much support and is a self motivated they will do great. If your kid needs special education support, this school is not recommended. Ranked low for special ed support and staff who know how to manage IEPs. If your kid doesn't need special ed support they will do very well. Teachers are great regardless of low to high support needs, classrooms are average. Don't like the mandatory use of school laptops when they can't control the content kids are accessing.Parent Review1y ago - Poquoson High School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy youngest started kindergarden this year at PPS. We were drawn to Poquoson due to the schools and I must say I am pleased we moved here. We have 2 other children who went to kindergarden in other locations and this school knocks the others out of the water. The teachers are awesome and the learning curve for my daughter has been trememdous. I love the fact that she goes to school all day vice half a day and that she brings home fun family homework almost every day. It serves to help her learn and keep parents involved. Also, every event at the school has parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles coming out as well as other siblings. Poquoson is a fabulous school system and we love it here.Parent Review14y ago - Check out schools near 23 Magnolia Ln.

"About 15 to 20 minutes to interstate. My office is an hour to hour and half from where I live. But drive from poquoson to interstate is reasonable. "

"Dog walkers are frequently seen in our neighborhood. People are friendly and stop to talk to neighbors if they see them out in their yards or on the porch. This is a nice community. There are rumors that you have to be born here to be accepted but that’s ridiculous. We are a military family who moved into the area years ago and it’s been lovely. "

"This is one of the safest communities in Virginia and features excellent schools, friendly neighbors and wonderful access to the water. The commute to the base is under 15 minutes, even with traffic. And all is the conveniences you’d find in the city are available with a short drive. Mall, home improvement stores, all of the restaurant choices, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, movie theaters, Target, etc. we absolutely love living in Poquoson and plan to retire here someday. "

"Great school system. Virtually crime free; no major crimes against person, rare crimes against property that are nuisance, traffic violations rare and minor. No school threats of violence, teacher morality unquestionable. "

"Poquoson seafood festival is the big local event but there are dozens of smaller things that go on during the year too. Every holiday involves community activity like the boat parade, community Christmas events, Memorial Day festivities and Halloween is a big thing too. We love the small town atmosphere with the proximity to city conveniences. A very warm and welcoming community. "
