4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child gets bullied and sexually harassed every day by other students. The staff members do nothing to help bullying and kids mental health. Students are bypassing the metal detectors bringing weapons and harming other students. the inside of the school is poorly managed, with moldy bathrooms, and broken equipment. Do not send your kid here.Parent Review2mo ago - Lake Taylor High School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI honestly do not like the school Lake Taylor (coming from a student) but everyone's opinions aren't going to be the same. Lake Taylor is un-accredited and hasn't been for the past 5 years, the students make it hard for the teacher to teach because of the amount of disruptive behavior...EVERYDAY, the fights are terrible, and the disrespect is way beyond words. But. There are a FEW positives about Lake Taylor; the sports are ALWAYS #1 in the district (football especially), the NJROTC program is good if you're considering joining the military, and there are a few good teachers here. Other than that, please consider going on zillow.com and start searching for districts that are located near Granby, Maury, or Norview, because this is NOT the prison...I mean the school you want to send your children to. :) Have a nice day!Other Review7y ago - Little Creek Elementary School

"I love my neighborhood .The new management company that took over where I live and have lived for the past 7 years really stinks. They have no clue on what they are doing. I only work but the drive to the stores are easy and straight shots."

"Roads flood in this area also be mindful of the rain and high tide. Plan ahead and always be proactive about parking. Roads are narrow so watch out for kids in the area because there is not many places they can play. "

"Dislikes: There are often poorly maintained sidewalks or no sidewalks in this neighborhood. There is often broken glass on the ground/sidewalk/street. Likes: the streets are usually pretty quiet, it’s a short walk to the beach where dogs are allowed at certain times, people seem to keep their dogs well controlled here I don’t hear a lot of barking or see loose dogs"

"Ocean View is ok, but prone to tidal flooding on majority of the streets. Also there’s constant construction, with no previous notice beforehand. Extremely inconvenient on streets with only 1 way in and 1 way out."

"East Beach is great. Community is designed for interaction so walks, golf carts, bikes and pets are in abundance. Once construction is complete (still a good number of new homes going up), it'll be hard to beat. Beautiful homes, tons of variety and well run architectural board. Highly recommend. "

"It is great to visit and live here. It is clean and orderly, people are very nice, down to earth and helpful. There are live entertainment sduring the summer months, carnivals and so much more. Drive to city of Norfolk and Virginia Beach is a short distance away. The community are very involve with each other. Overall a great place to be either for vacation or permanent."

"It's a nice area, but ... I bought a condo here in 2009. However ... if I was buying this year, I wouldn't. The place has become a wreck. It flooded in November 2009, and the so-called "homeowners association" never fixed the bowed-out fences or the eroded area. I rate it "terrible" on so many levels because of (a) Safety -- it's supposedly a gated community but 95 percent of the time the gate is either broken or doesn't work (b): Pet-friendly, if you like dog feces everywhere, I guess it is. I'm tired of it. I guess if you don't clean up after your dog, you'll love it here. (c) Restaurants and Shopping: I like Razzo and the Sandfiddler Cafe, but that's it for dining here, unless you're into crack ho's and smoke. There is no shopping. (d) Parks & Recreation: OK, there's a basketball hoop populated by the local kids. (e) The entire Norfolk Public School system is corrupt. If you can move to Virginia Beach, do so. (f) Traffic: No big deal. (g) Parking: If you don't mind the fact that everyone and his dog has an SUV and parks wherever they want to, you're fine. If you are the only person who uses their garage, you're weird. (h) Entertainment & Nightlife: See (d) above. Etc., etc.The pad my home sits on is now exposed and in danger of cracking. I'm doing what I can, but every time it rains, it's a flood through the alley between my condo and the next one. There's a huge mound of construction dirt that has never been removed. It has now sprouted trees and is the greenest thing on the property. My wife and I call it "Li'l Trashmore" . A light post was knocked down by construction vehicles during the winter of 2010 and has never been fixed. It's a hellhole of illegal alien workers much of the time, who throw trash everywhere while putting up houses that probably cost the builder about $25K to $50K to build while they sell for $300K to $500K. Requests for help go unanswered. If you'd like to see the flooding of 2009, visit this site: http://www.flickr.com/photos/44624109@N0"
