2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFrom a graduating senior, Norview high is a school that can give students many different experiences based on their choices. there are many different routes that can be taken through Norview. How well a student does at the school is mostly based on them and their own decisions. Teachers and counselors can't be fully blamed for the sub-par student performance in the school, as a noticeable part of the student population lacks self-motivation/initiative. There are many opportunities for advanced courses such as Honors or AP classes available to all students, not just those in the specialty program. To parents nervous about their child attending this school in the future, they'll be fine if they use good judgment, stick to their work, and hang with the right people. In my opinion, the school can do a good job preparing students for college or a vocation, as long as the student has the initiative to put themselves into the necessary classes or programs to ensure they have a stable future beyond high school. In terms of the school's safety, it can get a little rough sometimes with the constant fights, but in my opinion, they're just a part of growing up I guess, avoid them and dont think too much of them.Overall, I think Norview High can be made a good school by a focused, driven student, or made a bad school by an unfocused student just drifting along in the river of life. To concerned parents, your child will be fine, as long as you ensure they are completing their necessary coursework and not lingering in the hallways.Student Review1mo ago - Norview Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf I could give zero stars I would. The bullying, fighting, lack of communication is atrocious. Teacher and staff do not protect, teach, or care about the students education or safety. Racism is off the charts. There is no homework sent home. Communication does not exist. Third party organizations are brought in without parent notification. Few after school programs offered. My children actually slide backwards in less than 3 months. Do NOT send your child to this school.Parent Review2y ago - Sherwood Forest Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is a joke! The reverse racism is justified and overlooked out of fear of being accused of being racist. So the issue repeats itself over and over until something serious happens that can’t be undone. And I refuse to wait around for that day.Parent Review1y ago - Check out schools near 3507 Orange St.

"haven't been here long but its terrible, my vehicle got broken into, the neighbors are always playing loud music, or fighting and the stench of cannabis is horrible. I've told the landlord several times and nothing has been done. "

"It's an ok neighborhood. Not sure I have picked this neighborhood if I was buying a home in Virginia. "

"So close to everything but tucked away all safe and sound there are several of these neighborhoods in Norfolk with charming homes and even more charming neighbors!"

"This is a great neighborhood to live in. I have lived on my street for over 16 years and have not had any major issues at all. Everyone around the neighborhood is nice and there are plenty of people who go for a walk or take their pets for a stroll. My only suggestion is if you don't want your children to go to Booker T High school, you can easily request for an out of district transfer to Norview High School. Norview High is in walking distance to Estabrook so it wouldn't be a huge issue at all as all three of my kids walked home when they were in Norview High. If schooling is not a concern, then this is a great place."
