3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTook me only a year to realize that this school was not good. Bullying isn’t really taken as serious as I had thought it would have been. Some of my former peers literally would make jokes on anyone who wasn’t “popular”. It was crazy! Teachers did nothing but would give the bully 3 days of OSS. Surely it wasn’t that bad but literally after those three days it would just continue. I managed to get my classes switched which was so nice! 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs someone who has worked in the School System in this state and in Florida. I felt that the staff are very caring and loving towards the students. My Grandson has been here for two years. The first year he had a difficult time with behavior. However his teachers were wonderful and he made to the end of the year. This year he was given additional support and started out well. As a family we had some life changing events which made his behavior changed for the worst. Patrick Copeland Elementary was very patience, understanding and supportive of our Grandson. He still has his ups and downs however, his teacher keeps us informed through the class dojo ( which is wonderful!) by letting us know what we need to reinforce at home. We are happy with his progress so far . He has a long way to go but not as long if it had not had the support from Patrick Copeland Elementary School.Parent Review4y ago

"We lived in the neighborhood for 3 years and we love it. It is very quiet where we live, we forgot to lock the door at night or when leave for work but none bothers. The people are friendly and looking out for each other, there are areas that has crime."

"I’ve lived in Hopewell for many years, went to school here, now my daughter is going to high school. Definitely some not so nice areas of the city but luckily I’m still in the quieter nicer areas."

"There are several schools within walking distance. There is a private school in the area. There is no real sense of community here. People walk through your yard and on your property despite signs."

"The events at the Beacon are great, and the new restaurants and businesses bring more life back into downtown. I've worked in area for almost 7 years and like the small town feel, even if movies are filmed here. some neighborhoods are suspect, but most neighbors look out for each other. "
