4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am not sure what the school is now my last child graduated 3 yrs ago . But my daughter was prepared for college. She has graduated college and is in her masters program as are most of the friends she had while attending HSHS. She is 24. Whenever the school gets good staffing they magically get promoted or moved. As if the school has been set up as a proving ground and the children there be damned. If the school is failing it due to the failing of the school board the adults in charge of making sure they are prepared. The school was overcrowded when my son was there So it’s not beyond thought that it is still wildly overcrowded now. Are any schools on the west end this crowded ? They aren’t . I attended schools in the west when I was young I have first hand experiences of the vast differences in how the kids are treated from one side of the county to the other . It is the failing of the people in charge . Not the children they are children .Parent Review1y ago - Elko Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy granddaughter went here for 2 1/2 years. In her 8th grade year she became a victim of being bullied. Her Mother went to the principal and assistant principal. With no help from either of them she contacted the School Board. My daughter pulled my granddaughter out until the school board contacted her. They said that the principal and assistant principal Would be calling to set up an appointment to meet with both of them. She got the call the following day from the principal that they wanted to meet the next day. My daughter and grand went and the principal nor the assistant principal never showed up for the meeting he set up. My granddaughter’s 8th grade counsellor was there and apologize for the other two not being there. My granddaughter was bullied because she made friends with a girl that nobody liked. She at one point had 15 girls that were going to beat her up. One girl who was in one of her class threatened to set her hair on fire and to cut it off. The saddest part is that a lot of the girls were friends with my granddaughter before. My granddaughter said to me “ I’m not afraid of their words and I’m not afraid to fight 1 if I had to but I can’t fight 15!!!” So making friends with someone who doesn’t have many at this school seems to be an issue with some students that think bullying is okay! And where is the Principal? Sitting in his office playing on his phone??????Choose another School NOT ELKO MIDDLE!!!!Other Review3mo ago - Donahoe Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter has thrived at this school! They encourage her and push her to be the best she can be. They don't avoid situations and they make it their business to handle any issues that arise. I wish they were more involved in the Box Top program. I think they would really benefit from it!Parent Review10y ago - Check out schools near 1927 N Washington St.

"must have a car or transportation. It would depend on where you want to go. Downtown is roughly 8-miles away and shopping is an extra 2 to 3 miles depending on your needs. Main interstate highway is 2.5 miles (I295 North & south bound). commuting to work is a straight shot to 295 south towards Hopewell. "
