"There are some great people in this neighborhood from different cultures and backgrounds who all treat one another neighborly."
  • Trulia User
"plenty families and children in area.. streets are not well lit at night.. elementary schools are great and oscar smith high is good.. "
  • Trulia User
"its not super close to the interstate but its just a couple blocks. "
  • Trulia User
"Some do. I see others walking their dogs down the street daily. I don’t have to worry about it because my yard is so large. "
  • Trulia User
"Not a good place to raise kids. Schools are biases and only a handful of teacher actually care about their job as a teacher. "
  • Trulia User
"I actually drive around. I do see public transportation here in South Norfolk. I grew up in this town and I've always loved it. It's my home."
  • Trulia User
"i love the swimming pool and sidewalks to run by the canal on. The dog park is great too. There’s also a neighborhood watch."
  • Trulia User
"back yards are large enough for pets. Chesapeake City park is great. People are usallt friendly towards pets and kids playing outdoors."
  • Trulia User
"Quite elderly area. Low coating area. One of my most favorite things about living here are that we are close to the highway but not to close to hear it. The fire station and police delayed down the road and no HOA!"
  • Trulia User
"I've lives in this neighborhood for 29 years. Usually pretty calm and kids play outside regularly. The only thing to watch out for is the occasional teenagers vandalizing vehicles and drug arrests."
  • Trulia User
"This is not a great school zone. The neighbors are friendly and mostly considerate of one another. The neighborhood is conveniently located."
  • Trulia User
" I love animal lovers animals outside being walked played with by owners like to have a dog park so you could walk your dogs are they can play "
  • Trulia User
"I used to live in this area, 4 years. I can’t complain very nice community. I would recommend this area to anyone."
  • Trulia User
"Was a little worried when I first moved into south Norfolk but I have really enjoyed the neighborhood so far. I feel comfortable walking my dog, there is a nice park near by, and my neighbor is so nice and friendly. There is a neighborhood watch group which makes me feel at ease but I have had zero problems or have felt uncomfortable even walking my dog at night. Street lights could be better but not bad. There is a dollar general within walking if I need something quick and the library is VERY nice. I like it here!"
  • Trulia User
"A great neighborhood. A lot of foot traffic but very friendly ! I would recommend this neighborhood to anyone considering it!"
  • Trulia User
"I’ve live in this neighborhood for years and it continues to be a loving home for my family and I. We feel warm and safe having created a home here. "
  • Trulia User
"It's becoming more up and modern. Cleaning up the streets. More of an older crowd lives in the area. Love the older homes look on the outside but open living space on the inside. I believe the schools could be better but they are pretty decent. "
  • Trulia User
"I lived in the neighborhood for 2 years and the folks are awesome people to live near. The traffic isn’t bad at all, and it’s a safe neighborhood."
  • Trulia User
"I love this neighborhood, I know almost my entire block. everyone is very friendly and they all have barbeques all the time. we are all very close, and being that I am in the military its hard to say goodbye, however gotta stay on the move. beautiful homes inside and out! your family would love it here too! "
  • Trulia User
"This place is second to none, one of the best places for young children to grow up in, on top of the fact that the majority of families that live here are young families with young children some as young as 6-10 and therer are some older teens living in this area, given that people are not bias in their judgments in regards to this neighborhood nor are racist towards that people of other cultures and races and ethnicities this is a great community! whom ever chooses to live here has to know how well kept these homes are in this neighborhood, the people are friendly their children can be rowdy like any child in any neighborhood but I know all of my neighbors by name and we always have gotten along, and it's like a big huge family If you have kids this is definitely a place where you can expect your children will never be bored, there is lots of things to do here. and plenty of shopping centers all around and literally you have access to almost every highway that goes to almost every city withing a ten mile radius."
