Students are not engaged because the principal demands that all lessons be a specific way. The principal does not follow up on her promises. She has her minions and they keep an eye on people for her. It’s very big brother. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageDo NOT send your child(ren) to this school. I heard of all of the amazing things Samuel W. Tucker used to be (with previous admin,) but that has long gone. Admin is way in over their heads in terms of what is going on at this school. Communication is lacking- they do not practice what they preach. They want to paint a pretty picture to parents and outsiders to hide what a mess this place is. It seems as if parents have a lot of control of what goes on here, or at least administration will give to anything a parent requests. The office staff is friendly, but it is always a mess in there. Things are misplaced, it's always "I thought he/she had it...",- no accountability. Teachers are nice and they at least seem to have each other. You can definitely tell this is not a happy place to work. Behaviors at this school are growing by the year and there is no handle on them. Counselors, support staff, and the special education department is stretched thin trying to make it through each day. Children are physically aggressive with staff members and other students and it takes a big incident for something to be done. "Although there are nice parks where I live, most of the family friendly neighborhoods reside in an enclosed neighborhood called Cameron Station. There is a beautiful library and it's close to Van Dorn Metro. There is a lot of traffic and some have pockets that are unsafe. The area is not pedestrian friendly. Lots of dog parks. Not stroller friendly. Eisenhower seems to have the least amount of crime but it is a busy street during the day. LA Mart is a great source for Asian groceries. The area has almost everything you need in a short distance. Schools aren't rated the best."

"The neighborhood is friendly and easy to commute. people come together to celebrate and barbeque in parks as one family. everything is close by to access!"
