4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs an alumni and now parent, I love Highland. There is a sense of community and some of the faculty and administrators were students themselves when I was there in the 90s. My child has made friends with good kids who have an eye toward the future, though granted not every kid there appreciates what they have, the majority are decent kids. The only concern is safety, which is a problem everywhere these days. The administration is solid and always helpful, relatively good communication with parents. I am glad my kids are continuing the Ram legacy!Parent Review8mo ago - Hillside Middle School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers here are amazing! Hillside is one of the schools in the valley everyone wants to work at, so there is fierce competition for positions. I was nervous about sending my daughter because my own experience in middle school was so bad, but she has truly loved it. She is in the MELP program, and in the same set of classes as many of her peers, which helps with making friends. She has been challenged, but not over-burdened with homework. Nearly everything she has brought home has been designed to help her remember what they learned in class, and hasn't been busy-work. The community also really comes together for extra-curricular activities. I'm amazed by the outreach surrounding their theater program. (I feel that nearly 50% of the school is in the musical, and they have all had an excellent experience from the lead to the ensemble.)Parent Review1mo ago - Indian Hills School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIndian Hills is a wonderful school with a fantastic community. The school has excellent teachers with a wide range of skills. You could walk into any class and see high student engagement. The office staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The community is full of highly involved families.Teacher Review2y ago - Innovations High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageInnovations early college high school is very underrated in the state but it's very good. You can get help in anything whether it's emotional or academics. There are tutors who can help you in your assignments as well as your mentors, plus teachers and staff. They will help you achieve your academic goals, whether it's graduating early or not, taking college classes early etc. I really do recomend this school. You even have stufy periods where you can work individually. it's not like other high schools where you have 4 periods a day and 2 hours a class. They as well offer classes at the nearby high schools that innovations doesn't have. It's a very welcoming school and easy to make friends no one judges. And parents/guardians get updates on the students assignments and grades etc.Student Review1y ago - Innovations K-8

What Locals Say about East Bench
- Amy.lynn1994

"I drive towards I80 in the morning and my commute is normally pretty quick, about 5-7minutes to get to the interstate. In the evenings the traffic is normally pretty heavy on Foothill Drive, but it moves pretty quickly. It seems like heading towards the UofU is heavy traffic in the morning and in the evenings traffic is heavy coming from the UofU."

"If you want quiet living, ask the city why they put the fire station smack dab in the middle of a neighborhood? Sirens wake up my kids and I multiple times in a night! Can we not have some noise ordinances here?! Is the siren necessary at 3 am on the empty street?? "

"Unless you are religious it’s not a terribly friendly area. Neighbors seem to keep themselves if you’re not a churchgoer, but very clean nice sidewalks plenty of room to walk a dog plenty of room to take your kids on their bikes and a nice quiet neighborhood the noise off of foothill and Sunnyside are a little bit too much some nights! But overall, a nice place to raise a family. I wish it was a little friendlier of a place, but that’s my biggest complaint"

"Plenty of sidewalks for walking dogs, quiet, light traffic, and lots of trees for shade in the summertime "

"There are many families here. Families outside, being active. Great place for kids. Elementary school in the neighborhood. Church parking lot for biking and playing. "

"About 15-20 mins to everywhere! The air is clearer up here as opposed to the valley which is extremely nice. "

"The commute isn’t bad. The community and neighbor is very mature and a lot of small and sensitive dog owners who do not want their dogs to be “hurt”. Area is safe but it’s very quiet for a young professional or student. "

"It feels exclusive. With great city views. High in the foothills. Still surprisingly affordable. Active people live here. Running, hiking and biking on low traffic streets. Indian Hills is above the bustle of the city streets, yet close to shopping, hospitals, the University of Utah and Westminster College. Throw in some of the best public and private schools in Salt Lake City and you have a great place to live to raise a family or to enjoy your golden years."

"Live in the area, Wasatch has one of the most fine running roads in Utah, passing the lovely Bonneville Golf Course."

"My wife and I currently live here with our 2-year old daughter (clearly we are a bit biased). We LOVE it, but a new job is taking us out of state. The house has been recently remodeled. It's in an great location - walking distance to Foothill Village. Incredible view of the mountains from front porch & main bedroom. We're selling!"
