7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI’ve given Bluffdale a good chance. We went through shut down at this school. I was worried about my children’s education, but decided to keep giving it a chance. 2nd grade teacher kept embarrassing my child in front of the class. Name calling my child and others. The teacher denied it to the principal when I went to the school for help. I should have pulled my child. But I was scared she wouldn’t get an education, so we stayed. Name calling continued. Telling the kids they were babies. Or still a “kinder” (kindergartener) I encouraged other mothers to call the school when this teacher told their kids that they were “not smart” but nothing was ever done about it. Different teacher taught my child in second grade that Santa wasn’t real. Talked about gender identity. And asked us to feed our children packing peanuts as part of an assignment. Teacher couldn’t ever explain why though. The kids were also taught that the letter W makes a “who” sound. I called the school sent so many emails to the district that year. It was silly. My child’s confidence was shot after that. The next year, I saw improvement in confidence. But not too much else. I went to the teachers for help a few times, but just felt like I was bothering them from the reactions I got. The next school year really started to make me nervous. My child came home with a bunch of work to do at home. The only thing I could figure that was being taught during class time was a podcast called 6 min. The kids were asked questions and tested on this podcast. I listened to it once, and I do not understand what the educational value was. Sure it was fun, but no other learning was happening during class time.Parent Review7mo ago - South Hills Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt's a whatever school if you can find a group of students like you and you have classes with them it's not all that bad. Still, there is already so much swearing at this school and friendships are not some web where you feel comfortable with everybody you really just feel comfortable with a few students. most teachers are nice if you behave most kids I know in this school have at least 30 missing assignments and many students are on the edge of having detention for having so many tardies. This next year they are banning phones except for at lunch. They will take your phone the first time you see it and a parent will have to pick it up. Decent schools but they are more concerned with controlling the kids than giving them the best education they can give.Student Review11mo ago - Riverton High School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBest school experience I have had. i moved school to school a lot and went here for my Junior and Senior year. Yes it is a big school with lots of kids but it has lots of opportunities to meet new people and make new friends! I loved it I met so many good people, then staff is awesome and is willing to help you if you need it. they have great sports, ad have many clubs available to people. My favorite thing is the silver rush charity/fundraiser every December. Lastly I liked the variety of class options to take.Other Review5y ago - Check out schools near 4173 W Shade Hill Ln.
