What Locals Say about Tyler

  • Trulia User
"public transportation near as well as the zoo. a few parks within a few minutes drive. new sidewalks going in."
  • Trulia User
"People walk their dogs with or without leash. People usually clean up. Dogs are generally friendly. Most roads not highly trafficked"
  • Trulia User
"Great area. Good people all over. Not hurried or rude. Refreshing and peaceful. Drivers are fast, but friendly. "
  • Trulia User
"Not a horrible place to live I will say the crime has been growing over the years. Also not much of a night life or fun places. "
  • Trulia User
"There’s many great parks. Events hosted downtown for adults and families. Not a lot of traffic in our neighborhood, so children can safely play"
  • Trulia User
"I love it here in Tyler! Great parks and places to walk my dog! College Street is a beautiful street to walk dogs, with many historic homes built before the Civil War! There is a wonderful children’s park with tennis courts, and picnic tables! Also an amphitheater for music and movies!"
  • Trulia User
"The commute is different in that I have to go a couple streets over to take a right during the hours of 7 AM- 7 PM due to high traffic, but other than that everything is easily to get to in a short amount of time."
  • Trulia User
"I've lived in this neighborhood for almost a decade. People are friendly and nice. The homes are mostly older but generally cared for. "
  • Trulia User
"We live in a great neighborhood near hospitals, grocery stores and schools. Very quiet and shielded from major roads "
  • Trulia User
"It has the famous Don Juan’s right across the street. Plus I know the owners I live right next to them. "
  • Trulia User
"It’s an old feel neighborhood in the Azalea District with beautiful landscapes. It’s a wonderful place to live"
  • Trulia User
"it has a lot of character. The homes are old and beautiful. There are families here but there are also singles and retired couples. Bergfeld park is fun and they have festivals the every now and then. You can walk to downtown. "
  • Trulia User
"I have lived here almost all my life. Time for me to move. Its a town mostly for people who have retired. If you are young or have a family, I suggest a much bigger town. Kid friendly places are very limited here."
  • Trulia User
"Excellent neighborhood with great neighbors. I always feel safe and know that my neighbors are keeping an eye on things when I'm gone. Every day people are out and about walking their dogs or going for a jog. The surrounding yards are always well-maintained. All of the homes here that I've been inside have such great charm that can't be found in newer homes. We have a nearby park that often hosts events like arts & crafts fairs, The Saturday Night Movie-in-the-Park, etc. My husband and I plan to stay here for a long time, possibly for the rest of our lives. I would recommend this neighborhood to anyone looking for a safe and pleasant place to call home!"
  • Trulia User
"Coming from Austin, this neighborhood resembled the charm of Hyde Park. We have thoroughly enjoyed all the neighborhood has had to offer. If the sun is out, so are all the residents; walking, running, biking - dogs and children in tow. We love walking to Brady's Coffee shop (where we are now "regulars"). The walk to Childrens Park, First Pres. park or Bergfeld park has offered more variety in our walking routes to get out and play. There is always something going on at Bergfeld - living blocks from there, we have never had to drive to these events! Even the races that we have helped sponsor, we've arrived on foot. So fun! The Springtime brings breathtaking views - no pictures can do it justice. The location for our daily commutes (to work downtown, and over to Troup Hwy for church) couldn't be easier; we are at our destination in 3 minutes. The passion of our residents in regard to Brady-Bartlett is contagious. Everyone is so well connected, determined to make this neighborhood one great community! And that is why we love Brady-Bartlett."
