3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe new law and health magnet programs are amazing. I learn way more going to a magnet school than going to a traditional high school. The teachers care about their students and if they are passing. The teachers also are able to work one on one with each student if its needed because the classes are small enough to do so. The student body is also amazing. We all are able to keep our grades up because we are fighting to be in the top ten percent of our class.Student Review8y ago - Hawthorne Pk-8 Academy

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you are looking for a school with a communal feel where parents are familiar not only with their child's teacher but with all administration and teachers in other grades, this is the school for your child. Even the custodial and cafeteria staff know all the children by name and are greeted by them on a daily basis. Teachers know their craft, know their students and families. This is my 4th year teaching at this school and I have never taught at a school that has felt like everyone is family and everyone's opinion matters. This school is very strong on diversity and social/emotional learning. Children learn that differences are a norm and how to advocate for other children who are having a difficult day. There are times, where I am walking down the hall and I get tackled from behind with a big hug from a student. Teachers absolutely love their little scholars and they feel important and understand that teachers want them to succeed. Teachers are extremely knowledgeable in their craft. Special Education department is flexible and knowledgeable. Special Education teachers advocate for their student's need to provide the tools they need to be successful in the classroom.Teacher Review7mo ago - Check out schools near 119 Andrews St #16.

"Awesome, close to downtown. Food haven. Multiple parks nearby. Multiple museums nearby. Japaneese and Botanical garden also in same area. Downtown is just a couple minutes away. The Pearl Brewery and its restaurants are a short drive away or a nice bike ride down the street. Also very close to highway 37/281. That gives quick access to anywhere in san antonio"

"It’s a great central location so you can get pretty much anywhere you want to go in the city within 30 minutes or less during heavy traffic, but most times you can get where you want to go in about 15 minutes, whether it’s the grocery store or downtown or the community college. "
