6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe just bought a house at Ranches East and was excited that we are in NISD. Our first year in NISD/Hughes Ele. This is a whole new ballpark for us especially coming from AISD. What really impressed the Principal greeted my child by his first name. You get the sense of belonging. I can also say that the teachers are very caring, respectful and nurturing towards their students and very professional towards parents. I am very impressed with their students safety policy. There is only one tiny little thing that the teachers can improve are their webpages. I feel that some teachers need to update their webpages and in that way busy parents can stay in touch of what's going day to day. My hats off for PTA. They are the back bone of the teachers. They have worked very hard from day one. It's not an easy task to orchestrate PTA events for the school. But the PTA Presidents and her team never fail to pull through and make everyone feel welcome. Other than that, overall, we are really very impressed with Hughes. We are happy to be part of Hughes family and very excited to see what is in store for us for coming years.Parent Review10y ago - Byron Nelson High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school sucks, fights almost daily that are covered up by administration, bullying allowed and also perpetrated by coaches. Violent conduct barely punished, those students allowed to attend after multiple attacks. Drug use rampant. It is a horrible school in an affluent area, those with more get the best - those with less get ignored at best.Parent Review1y ago - John M Tidwell Middle School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you are a parent of a first time middle schooler and need extra direction and care, this school is not for you. The communication is horrific! Wasn’t made aware that gym uniforms were to be ordered during summer. Wasn’t made aware that the electives that are required for every student costs an arm and leg. My daughter is in band and instruments aren’t made available unless you actively buy a monthly rental at a rental shop or you flat out buy your own, which can cost thousands. You also are required to pay for the years band events, including the end of the year “final” where you are required to drive your kid to a school in another town so they can be graded by another school. Why is another school involved in this? Why do we have to pay for this? During my son’s elective choosing, he choose football. I figured it would be another class like art, gym, etc. No, I am required to get him a physical, pay for equipment and shuffle him around to other schools once a week so he can play competitive football against other teams. Why is this information not made aware to the parents when they have a student choose their electives? Electives should be free as they are MANDATORY. This is highly expensive especially if you have more than one kid going to Tidwell. The communication between teachers and parents is abysmal and basically nonexistent. Staff treat you like a nuisance when you reach out to them with questions. My son got bullied and forced to fight twice last year, resulting in ISS because he defended himself. It’s obvious the students are not watched as I have personally seen older students vaping, cursing out adults and completely running around like they own the place. Just overall, many changes need to be made with this institution before they get sued after a child becomes injured.Parent Review8mo ago - Check out schools near 3420 Lasso Rd.

"Just outside the hustle and bustle of the city - green pastures, livestock are a common sight. Just off 114, 170, and 35 - you have quick access to highways to get anywhere in the metropolis. Excellent shopping within 5miles."

"I live here with my husband. The family next door won't allow their teenage daughter to jog to the park down the street and back. They fear she'll be kidnapped. I believe this is stupid and overprotective. However, there is a registered sex offender in the neighborhood, although not near me"
