Silvercest moves ineffective teachers down to lower grade levels rather than addressing the root issues and removing them. This school in no way acknowledges Learning Differences. The administration and teachers sole focus is testing scores. District leaves too many policies to principal discretion and the principals at Silvercrest apply policies particularly rigid. Silvercrest engages in excessive testing and worksheet instruction at young grade levels with only a 15 minute recess per day.

My child has received an excellent education here. His lead teacher for 5the grade was nominated for best teacher in the country. The clubs are good. There is little bullying as the school is only 5th and 6th grade. It is a secure school.My child is in honor classes and he has learned very much. The only con is that everything is in computers, so seeing exactly what they re doing is a big hard. Also, better parent engagement would be good.It has a great library.

We've had an incredible experience and the staff is absolutely amazing. Very concerned about the well-being of the students and they go above and beyond to help the students. Thank you to a wonderful administration!

My child came from Houston ISD 3 years ago and is in her Junior year at DHS and it has been a tremendous improvement from a mental health perspective. The majority of the students at DHS want to learn and do well, so they are less disruptive than at other schools. The classes are about 15-20 students, which is a reasonable ratio. The school offers dual credit enrollment, AP and PreAP classes, and classes to help train student in various career paths. Overall I feel that my child is safe when she attends DHS. I'm glad we made the move out here.
